B.Sc Nursing

The Entrance Examination for selection of candidates for admission into B.Sc. Nursing Course in both the Govt. and Private Institutes of Assam for the session 2024. Online Application Forms shall be available on University website www.ssuhs.in. The online application Form must be filled up after carefully going through the instructions given along with the Form.

The requisite entrance examination fee (non-refundable) shall have to be paid by the candidates only in online mode through the payment gateway available in the University website (Fee Collect). The details of categories of fee are available in the University website along with other details of examination. Above Examination fee is exempted for PwD (Divyang) category of candidates having disability of 40% and above.

Eligibility Criteria:- The eligibility criteria for appearing in the entrance test and for admission into the B.Sc. Nursing Course are as follows: The applicant must be a citizen of India and must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Science or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board, Council, or University with English as one of the subjects. The candidate must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for General category candidates, 45% for PwD candidates, and 40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H) categories, all without grace marks. Additionally, the candidate must be at least 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

The Entrance Examination for selection of candidates for admission into Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course in the Institutes of Assam for the session 2024. Online Application Forms shall be available on University website: www.ssuhs.in. The online application Form must be filled up after carefully going through the instructions given along with the Form.

The requisite entrance examination fee (non-refundable) shall have to be paid by the candidates only in online mode through the payment gateway available in the University website (Fee Collect). The details of categories of fee are available in the University website along with other details of examination. Above Examination Fee is exempted for PwD (Dibyang) category of candidates having disability of 40% and above.

Candidates are strictly advised to keep record of the Application Number and Password used by them while submitting the online form, without which they will not be able to download Admit Cards.

Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for appearing in the entrance test and for admission into Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course are as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  2. Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
  3. Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:

    Ophthalmic Nursing
    Leprosy Nursing
    TB Nursing
    Psychiatric Nursing
    Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
    Community Health Nursing

  4. Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
  5. Candidate shall be medically fit.
  6. Married candidates are also eligible for admission.

A non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One thousand five hundred only) is required to be paid by General Category candidates, and Rs. 1200/- (Rupees One thousand two hundred only) by candidates belonging to SC/ST/EWS/OBC (NCL)/MOBC etc., including TGL/Ex-TGL category candidates, through the Payment gateway available on the University website (www.ssuhs.in → Fee collect → Student Category → Entrance Examination Fee → Post Basic B.Sc. IMPORTANT: It is the responsibility of the applicant to furnish all information correctly. GNM

Applications are invited from the candidates for GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE) for selection of candidates for admission into GNM Course under the Directorate of Health Services, Assam in both Govt. and Private Institutes for the session 2024–25. Online Application Form shall be available at Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences website: www.ssuhs.in. The Online Application Form must be filled up after carefully going through the instructions given along with the form on the website. So, interested candidates are advised to submit the online form within this stipulated period only.

The entrance examination will consist of one paper with questions from English, Mathematics, and General Science, based on the 10th standard syllabus. The exam will carry a total of 100 marks, comprising 100 questions with 1 mark each—English for 50 marks, Mathematics for 25 marks, and General Science for 25 marks. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers, and unanswered questions will receive zero marks. The question paper will be available in both English and Assamese languages; however, candidates must fill the OMR sheet in English only.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December, 2024.
  2. The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  3. There is no age bar for ANM/LHS.
  4. The minimum educational qualification for selection of the GNM candidates is:
    a. HSSLC (10+2) or its equivalent passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.
    b. 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economic, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health Care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
    c. 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent Board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
    d. Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
  5. Student shall be medically fit.
  6. Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health Care Science – Vocational stream ONLY conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
  7. Student shall be admitted once in a year.

Important Note: The Entrance Examination shall consist of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) based on the Class 10th standard syllabus, covering English, General Science, and Mathematics. The merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained by each candidate in the examination. In case two or more candidates secure the same marks, the inter-se merit will be determined in the following order of preference: first, candidates securing higher marks in English in the Entrance Examination; second, those securing more marks in General Science. If the tie still persists, then the marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be considered in the order of English, followed by General Science, and then Mathematics at the time of counselling. The minimum qualifying criteria or cut-off score in the Entrance Examination for the GNM Course are as follows: 50th percentile for General (UR/EWS) candidates, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates, and 45th percentile for Divyang candidates. ANM

Applications are invited from the interested eligible female candidates for Entrance Examination (ANMEE) for selection of candidates for admission into ANM Course in Govt. ANM Training Schools under the Directorate of Health Services (FW), Assam for the session 2024-25. Online Application Form shall be available at Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences website: www.ssuhs.in. The Online Application Form must be filled up after carefully going through the instructions given along with the form in the website.

Eligibility criteria: The candidate must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of Assam, and must furnish a certificate to this effect. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December 2024, and the maximum age shall be 35 years. However, for Anganwadi, Asha Workers, and Trained Dias, the maximum age is relaxed to 42 years. The minimum educational qualification required is the passing of 12 years of schooling (10+2 year course) recognized by CBSE/ICSE/SSSCE/HSCE or a recognized equivalent examination. Admission is subject to a satisfactory medical examination report. The ANM course is open only to female candidates. The reservation of seats in Government Institutes for the ANM Training course shall follow Government norms, and the distribution and reservation of seats including admission shall be notified by the Directorate of Health Services (FW), Assam in due course of time.

Important Note: Candidates will be provisionally allowed to appear in the entrance examination upon successful submission of the online application form. However, eligibility for admission will be verified by the competent authority during counselling after declaration of results. The merit list will be prepared based on total marks obtained in the entrance exam. In case of a tie, preference will be given in the following order: higher marks in English, then General Science, then Mathematics in the entrance exam, and finally English marks in the qualifying exam if required. The minimum qualifying percentile for the ANM course is 30th percentile for General (UR/EWS) and 20th percentile for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/MOBC/Divyang categories. Any false, incomplete, or misleading information or later detection of ineligibility will lead to disqualification from the entrance examination. As the application is online, no documents need to be sent to the University initially; all verifications will be conducted during counselling. Candidates must remember their Application Form Number and Password, as these are required to download the Admit Card from www.ssuhs.in from 16-09-2024 onwards. If these credentials are misplaced or forgotten, the applicant will not be able to download the Admit Card. Hence, it is important to keep these credentials safe. M.Sc Nursing

Eligibility criteria: The eligibility criteria for M.Sc. Nursing course are as follows: Candidates must have passed a B.Sc. Nursing degree or equivalent from Nursing Colleges of the state of Assam or any other University recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. The applicant must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of Assam; however, this residency requirement does not apply to the son, daughter, husband, or wife of an employee of the Government of Assam. The candidate must possess R.N./R.M. or an equivalent certificate with the State Nursing Council. A minimum of one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or one year of experience either before or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is mandatory. Additionally, the candidate must have secured at least 55% aggregate marks in B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Hons. Nursing, or Post Basic Nursing, with a 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates.
