Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences or PGIMS Rohtak is a government Medical institution in the city of Rohtak Haryana  India. The institute offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in major specialties of Medicine & Surgery. It is spread across a huge 350 acres big campus. The Institute was started under the name of Medical College, Rohtak in 1960.

B.Sc Nursing ( 4 years)

Admission To  B.Sc. Nursing (Government Seat):

-Admission to B.Sc. Nursing   courses will be made on the basis of the merit of Common EntranceTest

-Medium of Examination

The medium of the Entrance Examination will be English. 

-Scheme of Examination: The Entrance examination shall consist of one paper of three hours duration-The paper will include objective type questions.

-Number of Questions and Maximum Marks

 (i) There will be a total of 180 objective type questions (in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany&Zoology )preferably equally distributed.

 (ii) The paper shall carry a maximum of  180 Marks. 

(iii) There will be No Negative Marking.

-RESULTS

The result of Entrance Examination will be displayed on the Notice board in the office of the Controller of Examinations and also on the University Website i.e. http://www.uhsr.ac.in/

-Admission process: 

Admission Process shall be carried out through Physical Counselling on the basis of relative merit in Common Entrance Test

TENTATIVE DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:-

B.Sc. Nursing The candidate must have passed Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) of Board of School Education, Haryana or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 45% aggregate marks for General Category, 40% marks for SC/BC in Physics, Chemistry, Biology &English (P, C, B &E) taken together in the qualifying examination. However, the candidate must obtain pass marks in each subject separately.

Admission (Government Seat):(POST BASIC B.SC. NURSING, M.SC. NURSING, NURSE PRACTITIONER CRITICAL CARE )

Admission to the above courses will be made on the basis of the merit of Common Entrance Test

-SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

 1)Timings :

  • P.B.B.Sc. Nursing : 3 hours
  • M.Sc. Nursing :  3 hours
  • NPCC Course :  3 hours

2. The medium of Examination: The medium of the Entrance Examination will be English. 

3. Scheme of Examinations: The Entrance examination shall consist of one paper. The paper will include Objective type questions. 

4. Number of Questions and Maximum Marks -

  •  Post Basic B.Sc Nursing- 2 years course-Three hours duration -180 MCQ Questions (180 Marks). Subject- Anatomy Physiology, Microbiology, psychology, sociology, fundamentals of nursing, First Aid, Community Health Nursing, Midwifery and gynecology, Pediatric, Nursing Mental Health& Psychiatric Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing -
  • M.Sc. Nursing-2 Years course- Three hours duration – 180 MCQ questions (180 marks) - subjects (Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Pediatrics Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing & Obst & Gynea., Nursing Research &Statistics, Nursing Education &Administration &General knowledge current affairs. -
  • NPCC Course- Entrance Exam on the basis of a B.Sc. (N) Syllabus (180 Marks) MCQ. Subject- Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition & Biochemistry, Nursing Fundamental, Psychology, Microbiology, English Computer, Sociology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pathology, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Research & Statistics, Obs. & Gyane., Management & Nursing Service & Education etc.

5) There will be no negative marking.

-RESULTS

The result of Entrance Examination will be displayed on the Notice board in the office of the Controller of Examinations and also on the University Website i.e. http://www.uhsr.ac.in/

-COUNSELING: 

The Counseling for admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing& NPCC courses will be held in Committee Room, Director Office, Pt. B.D.Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak. It is mandatory for the qualified candidates to appear before the Counseling Board in person. No relaxation will be given to candidates who are unable to appear before the Counseling Board on the fixed dates.

-Method of Admission :

(a) The allotment of the seats shall be made according to the merit of the entrance examination. 

(b) During subsequent counseling (s) the seat will be allotted as per the merit of the candidate depending on the availability of seats on that particular day. 

(c) “During the final counseling, a category wise waiting list of the eligible candidates, based on their merit will be prepared by the Counseling Board. In case any seat falls vacant due to any reason, the same will be filled up from the waitlisted candidates”.

 (d) Candidates who fail to attend the medical examination on the notified date(s) will forfeit the claim for admission and placement in the waiting list except permitted by the competent authority under special circumstances. (e) The admission in the institution will be completed by 31st Oct 

(f) The name of the student(s) who remain (s) absent from classes for more than 15 days at a stretch after joining the said course will be struck off from 24 the college rolls without giving any notice

Eligibility Criteria and Distribution Of Seats  (POST BASIC B.SC. NURSING, M.SC. NURSING, NURSE PRACTITIONER CRITICAL CARE )

-ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR M.Sc. NURSING - 2 YEARS COURSE 

 (i) The Candidate must attain the age of a minimum of 22 years Note: The age shall be determined as per entry in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary or its equivalent certificate. 

(ii) The candidate must have passed the following examinations:

  • Must have passed B.Sc. Nsg./ B.Sc. Hons. Nsg. /Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks from any INC recognized College of Nursing.
  • However, in the case of SC/ST/BC category candidates having 50% marks in aggregate may be allowed to appear in the Entrance Exam.
  • Must be registered Nurse & Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  • Must have Minimum one year of work experience of the recognized institute after Basic B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Sc. Nursing Honors or must have Minimum one year of work experience of the recognized institute after or prior to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. The work experience will be calculated from the date of registration in parent Council till the last date of submission of the form
  • Must have been declared medically fit by the competent Medical Board constituted by PGIMS, Rohtak.
  • A candidate desirous of undertaking the Higher studies will have to obtain a NOC from the University of Health Sciences, Rohtak / State Government before submitting their applications to the institutions concerned for admission in the course. Any application submitted without NOC of the competent authority will not be considered eligible for various benefits under this policy.

(i) The Candidate will attain the age of 21 years or more on 31.12.2019. The age shall be determined as per entry in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary or its equivalent certificate. 

(ii) The candidate must have passed following examinations: Passed the higher secondary or Senior secondary or intermediate or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done Metric/ 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission. 

(iii) Has obtained a certificate in General Nursing and midwifery and Registered as RN &RM with any state nurses registration council. 

(iv) Must have been declared medically fit by the competent Medical Board constituted by PGIMS, Rohtak. 

(v) In case of an employee of UHSR/State Govt., the candidate desirous of undertaking the Higher studies will have to obtain a NOC from State Government/ University of Health Sciences, Rohtak before submitting their applications to the institutions concerned for admission in the course. Any application submitted without NOC of competent authority will not be considered eligible for various benefits under this policy.

 (i) The Candidate must possess a registered B.Sc./PB B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of one-year of Clinical experience, preferably in any critical care setting prior to enrolment.

 (ii) Must have undergone the B.Sc Nursing / PB. B.Sc. Nursing in an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. 

(iii) Must have scored not less than 55% aggregate marks in the B.Sc. program Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Program.

 (iv) A selection must be based on the merit of an entrance examination. 

(v) A candidate desirous to seek admission will have to obtain a NOC from the State/Government/University of Health Sciences, Rohtak before submitting their application for admission in the course. Any application submitted without NOC of the competent authority will not be considered eligible for various benefits under this policy
