College Of Nursing,Synod Hospital. Durtlang is a general hospital and nursing school in Aizawl, Mizoram, India. The hospital is widely known among Mizo people as "Durtlang Hospital". It is managed and governed by the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod. By 1966, there were as many as 149 students who had successfully completed the course. The medium of teaching was changed from Lusei language to English in the year 1972. Dr G P Roberts and Sister GM Evans upgraded the school to a 4-year course in the year 1936 with an annual intake of 12 students. Recognition was obtained from the Indian Nursing Council in 1944.

B.Sc Nursing:

Dr G P Roberts and Sister GM Evans upgraded the school to a 4-year course in the year 1936 with an annual intake of 12 students. Recognition was obtained from the Indian Nursing Council in 1944, and the number of seats was increased from 12 to 16. However, the medium of teaching continued to be Lusei language. The training was always directed towards efficient patient care, skilled care in the wards, at the clinics, in the operating theatre and in the maternity and labour wards. By 1966, there were as many as 149 students who had successfully completed the course. The medium of teaching was changed from Lusei language to English in the year 1972.

Admission criteria

A. Requirements

• Candidates should have completed the age of 17, and not more than 35 years at the time of admission, or should complete the said age on or before 31st December of the said year.
• The minimum educational qualification required shall be the passing of: Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) Or Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree examination (10+2) Or An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks
• Only unmarried women / men candidates are eligible to apply
• Candidates shall be psychologically and medically fit

B. Entrance / Selection Test

• Selection of candidates shall be based on the entrance test and interview. Final selection will be done by the competent Authority of the Institution
• Reservation shall be allocated from time to time as per notification of the Government between the respective states and other North-eastern states
• Students should follow the rules and regulations of Synod Hospital
