IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences which began functioning in 2015 under IQ City Foundation. IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences and is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council and West Bengal Nursing Council. It is one of the best nursing colleges which is located in the heart of Durgapur, Sprawled out on a 100 acre campus amidst lots of greenery. It was started with 60 B.Sc Nursing students. Within a short period, they achieved the status of a PG institution. Our institution offers M.Sc in Medical Surgical Nursing and Pediatric Nursing specialties. The seat strength of the B.Sc Nursing and GNM increased to 100 since 2019.

  • Lecture Halls: the IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences are spacious, well ventilated, 4 lecture halls for B.Sc(N), 3 Lecture halls for GNM, 2 Lecture hall for M.Sc(N) and 1 common Multipurpose hall is available for conducting common academic sessions and cultural programs.
  • Laboratories: Nursing Foundation Laboratory, Nutrition Laboratory, Community Health Nursing Laboratory, Advance Skill Lab, Pre-clinical Science Laboratory, MCH Lab, Computer Lab, Audio Visual Aid Lab, and Paediatric Lab.
  • Library: IQ City Institute of Nursing sciences library is equipped with necessary learning resources to promote research and self-learning. Latest editions of nursing books are procured every year and offered for Referencing and Circulation. Carpet area of library is 2301.365 sq. ft. with more than 80 seating capacity.

  • Hospital (Parental / Affiliated): IQ City Medical College & Multispecialty hospital is a leading private Multi Speciality Hospital with 1200 beds.
  • Community – Health Nursing – Clinical Practice: College of Nursing students are given opportunity to participate in Immunization programmes, School health programmes, MCH programmes, Home visit, Street play, puppet show, role play, projects, health talk, mass health programmes, Nutritional assessment and cooking demonstration are carried out in both rural and urban health centres of our own and Government.
  • Affiliated Hospital: Students are also given permission to practice clinical skill in Durgapur SD Govt Hospital , Burdwan Medical College hospital, Government Hospital, Asansol District Hospital and Lalbag SD Hospital, Bankura Medical College Hospital,
  • Health Centres: Government centers like Laudoha BPHC, Pursa BPHC and Our Own health centres are also available for students to promote their community services in wide range by adopted villages such as Kantaberia, Jemua, MAMC Township, Kalabagan etc.,

B.Sc Nursing

WBJEE JENPAS is conducted for Admission to B.Sc. Nursing courses in different Government and Private Nursing colleges / Institutions of West Bengal. JENPAS (formarly known as JENPAUH)  conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on behalf of Central Selection Committee (Nursing), West Bengal Government College of Nursing (SSKM Hospital Campus) functioning under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. West Bengal B.Sc. Nursing candidates who are looking forward to take admission in B.Sc. Nursing in West Bengal need to appear for the JENPAS Entrance Examination. JENPAS UG (formarly known as JENPAUH) entrance exam is a state-level entrance exam used for the admission of the various programs :-

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board is responsible for the admission process of the B.Sc. Nursing course. Candidates who have qualified in JENPAS UG and for B.Sc. Nursing are allowed to participate in the online counselling process

  1. Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • The minimum percentage required is 45% for General category candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

PB B.Sc Nursing 

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based common entrance test JEPBN-2023 for admission in the academic session 2023-24 in Post Basic Nursing (PBN) course in the college institutes in the state of West Bengal. 

Eligibility criteria

The candidate must pass (10+2) level examination from any recognized Board and must pass the GNM course from the Institute recognized by Indian Nursing Council and obtained registration/RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any State of India.

Reservation of Seats for SC/ST/OBC-A(NCL)/OBC-B(NCL)/PwD category of students

  1. Reservation policies of West Bengal University of Health Science and the Dept. of H&FW, Govt. of W. B. will be applicable for admission in reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC-A(NCL)/OBC-B(NCL)/PwD candidates.
  2. Such reserve category seats shall be restricted to students domiciled in West Bengal only.
  3. List of reserved seats will be announced by the concerned authority before counseling.
  4. Candidates claiming reserved seats must submit relevant Certificate issued from either of the competent Authorities as enlisted below.
  5. Certificates are to be produced for verification at the allotted Institute during counselling, admission etc. If at that time, it is found that any information given by the candidate is/are incorrect or if the candidate is unable to produce certificate/ document/ proof valid as per the then applicable rules as on the date of its verification, his/her information will be corrected/modified accordingly and the candidate may be reconsidered in next round of counselling, if any. Any incorrect information/application will make him/her ineligible for all/some seats/course.
  6. Candidates having OBC certificates issued before 31.12.2009 must have the certificate revalidated from the issuing authority, with OBC-A(NCL) / OBC- B(NCL) classification clearly mentioned.
  7. OBC-A/OBC-B candidates must note that though there is a reservation for OBC- A(NCL)/OBC-B(NCL) candidates so far as seat allotment is concerned, but there is no reservation for OBC-A/B category in TR policy of Govt. of W.B.

M.SC Nursing

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based Common Entrance Test (JEMScN-2023) for admission in the academic session 2023-24 in M. Sc. Nursing course in Colleges/ Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

Eligibility criteria

  • The candidate must pass any of the following courses from Institutes recognized by Indian Nursing Council and obtained registration/RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any State of India.
    1. B. Sc. - Nursing
    2. B. Sc. (Hons.) – Nursing
    3. Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing
    4. Post Basic B.Sc. (Hons)- Nursing
    5. Post Basic B. Sc. -Nursing through distance education.
  • Candidate must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate considering all academic years together in the examination mentioned above.

GNM & ANM

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based Common Entrance Examination– ANM(R) & GNM-2023 for admission in various Govt./ Pvt./ Self-financed institutes in the State of West Bengal for the academic session of 2023-24, for two (2) years’ Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (Revised)course and three (3) years’ General Nursing & Midwifery course in.
