Admission Process

General Nursing And Midwifery (GNM)

Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Telangana has released admission notification into General Nursing and Midwifery training course (Male & Female) for the academic year.

GNM (Midwifery Course (3 years)

Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:

  • The minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for M.P.H.W(F).
  • 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
  • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  • 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
  • Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
  • The student shall be medically fit.
  • Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
  • The student shall be admitted once a year.

For foreign nationals

The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi. The institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

Reservation

  1. For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing program.
  2. 5% of total marks is relaxed for SC/ST candidates
  3. Any other reservation as per the State Govt.

POST BASIC DIPLOMA COURSE (PBDC)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION IN TO POST BASIC DIPLOMA COURSE:

  • Be a registered nurse and registered midwife (R.N. & R.M)
  • Possess a minimum of one year of experience as a staff nurse.
  • Nurses from other countries must obtain an equivalence certificate from Indian Nursing Council (INC) before admission.
  • Be physically fit.

B. Sc. (Nursing), M.Sc. (Nursing), Post Basic B. Sc. (Nursing), GNM

KNRHUS (KALOJI NARAYANA RAO UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES) will be doing Counseling As per G.O.Ms.NO.330, HM&FW (K1) Department, dt.11-11-2011, in an institution Sixty percent (60%) of the total number of seats shall be filled as competent authority seats, and remaining Forty percent (40%) seats shall be filled as management seats. In respect of the Government colleges, 100% Nursing seats shall be Competent authority, will be filled by the University.

Reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes.-Out of the available seats for admission by the University 15% for SCs and 6% for STs shall be reserved in each local area

Reservation for BC Candidates - 29% of the seats available for admission by the University, for B.Sc., Nursing 4years degree Course shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Backward Classes and shall be allotted among the five groups of Back Ward Classes as follow:- BC-A-7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC-D-7%, and BC-E-4%.

Reservation Under Pwd Category- Out of the available seats for admission by the KNR University of Health Sciences, 5% shall be reserved for the Persons with disabilities (PWD) in each category of OC, SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D and BC-E. As per Government of India / Medical Council of India guidelines.

  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
  • The student shall be medically fit.
  • Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
  • The student shall be admitted once a year.

  • Candidates seeking admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) Course should have passed Intermediate Examination.
  • Any other equivalent examination (10+2 pattern) recognized by the University in Telangana or Board of Intermediate Education Telangana or NIOS, TSOSS – Indian Nursing Council Regulations. &
  • Should have passed General Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by the Govt. of Telangana or Indian Nursing Council and shall be registered with the State Nursing Council.
  • Government Service Candidates: Should have completed 2 years of service as a staff nurse in the Medical and Health Department and Vaidya Vidhana Parishad in the State of Telangana as of 30th June. Service certificate as a staff nurse should be enclosed issued by the respective employer and she must be a regular employee. Service certificate, regularization orders as staff nurse should be enclosed. Only Female candidates are eligible as service candidates in Government Nursing colleges
  • The minimum age for PB BSc Nursing 2 YDC is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 45 years (for SC, ST candidates maximum age is relaxable by 3 years)

Application forms online are invited from the eligible candidates for admission into MSc (Nursing) courses for the academic year in Colleges affiliated to KNRHUS (KALOJI NARAYANA RAO UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES), Telangana State, Warangal based on merit in the qualifying examination B.Sc., (N) 4YDC / Post BSC (N) 2YDC Course under Competent Authority Quota.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should have passed B.Sc., (N) 4YDC / Post BSC (N) 2YDC) degree from an Institution, which is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks for OC and BC Category Candidates. SC / ST Candidates should secure a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks.

AGE: Both the service and Non-service candidates should not have completed 45 years of age as of 31st December 2019. For candidates belonging to SC / ST, the maximum age limit shall be 48 years

RESERVATIONS

  • Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved in favor of the local candidates in relation to the local area as provided in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended from time to time.
  • Admission to 15% Un-Reserved Quota Along With Local Candidates.
