 Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (JIMSH), established in June 2016, is committed to fostering patient care, research and education. With the motto of “Advancing Human Health”, JIMSH aspires to deliver healthcare facilities and medical education that would be within the reach of all. The college's name is Jagannath Gupta Institute of Nursing (JINS) which is located within the campus of Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (JIMSH). The College of Nursing is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and West Bengal Nursing Council and it is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

  • JIMSH cosists of  a Central Library and 17 Departmental Libraries, which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the college. The Central Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, journals, back volume of journals, theses, WHO publications, CD ROMs and internet services.
  • Four Air Conditioned Lecture Theatres with a seating capacity of 180 students each. All Lecture Theatres are equipped with world class audio-visual aids & are under 24 hours CCTV surveillance.

B.Sc Nursing

WBJEE JENPAS is conducted for Admission to B.Sc. Nursing courses in different Government and Private Nursing colleges / Institutions of West Bengal. JENPAS (formarly known as JENPAUH)  conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on behalf of Central Selection Committee (Nursing), West Bengal Government College of Nursing (SSKM Hospital Campus) functioning under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. West Bengal B.Sc. Nursing candidates who are looking forward to take admission in B.Sc. Nursing in West Bengal need to appear for the JENPAS Entrance Examination. JENPAS UG (formarly known as JENPAUH) entrance exam is a state-level entrance exam used for the admission of the various programs :-

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board is responsible for the admission process of the B.Sc. Nursing course. Candidates who have qualified in JENPAS UG and for B.Sc. Nursing are allowed to participate in the online counselling process

  1. Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • The minimum percentage required is 45% for General category candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

PB B.Sc Nursing 

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based common entrance test JEPBN-2023 for admission in the academic session 2023-24 in Post Basic Nursing (PBN) course in the college institutes in the state of West Bengal. 

Eligibility criteria

The candidate must pass (10+2) level examination from any recognized Board and must pass the GNM course from the Institute recognized by Indian Nursing Council and obtained registration/RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any State of India.

Reservation of Seats for SC/ST/OBC-A(NCL)/OBC-B(NCL)/PwD category of students

  1. Reservation policies of West Bengal University of Health Science and the Dept. of H&FW, Govt. of W. B. will be applicable for admission in reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC-A(NCL)/OBC-B(NCL)/PwD candidates.
  2. Such reserve category seats shall be restricted to students domiciled in West Bengal only.
  3. List of reserved seats will be announced by the concerned authority before counseling.
  4. Candidates claiming reserved seats must submit relevant Certificate issued from either of the competent Authorities as enlisted below.
  5. Certificates are to be produced for verification at the allotted Institute during counselling, admission etc. If at that time, it is found that any information given by the candidate is/are incorrect or if the candidate is unable to produce certificate/ document/ proof valid as per the then applicable rules as on the date of its verification, his/her information will be corrected/modified accordingly and the candidate may be reconsidered in next round of counselling, if any. Any incorrect information/application will make him/her ineligible for all/some seats/course.
  6. Candidates having OBC certificates issued before 31.12.2009 must have the certificate revalidated from the issuing authority, with OBC-A(NCL) / OBC- B(NCL) classification clearly mentioned.
  7. OBC-A/OBC-B candidates must note that though there is a reservation for OBC- A(NCL)/OBC-B(NCL) candidates so far as seat allotment is concerned, but there is no reservation for OBC-A/B category in TR policy of Govt. of W.B.

M.SC Nursing

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based Common Entrance Test (JEMScN-2023) for admission in the academic session 2023-24 in M. Sc. Nursing course in Colleges/ Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

Eligibility criteria

  • The candidate must pass any of the following courses from Institutes recognized by Indian Nursing Council and obtained registration/RNRM certificate from the State Nursing Council of any State of India.
    1. B. Sc. - Nursing
    2. B. Sc. (Hons.) – Nursing
    3. Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing
    4. Post Basic B.Sc. (Hons)- Nursing
    5. Post Basic B. Sc. -Nursing through distance education.
  • Candidate must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate considering all academic years together in the examination mentioned above.

GNM & ANM

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based Common Entrance Examination– ANM(R) & GNM-2023 for admission in various Govt./ Pvt./ Self-financed institutes in the State of West Bengal for the academic session of 2023-24, for two (2) years’ Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (Revised)course and three (3) years’ General Nursing & Midwifery course in.
