The K.V.G . Institute of Nursing Sciences is a part of the K.V.G Group of Institutions and is attached to the K.V.G Medical College Hospital. The Institution is located at sullia. The Administrative center of Sullia Taluk in the D.K District has its border spread through the states of Karnataka and Kerala.  Presently the Institution is running two programs, namely Basic B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery with an intake of 60 students for each program. The Institution aims to fulfill the requirements of the nursing students by providing state of the art facilities such as attached parent Medical College Hospital, digital library, separate Hostel facilities for girls and boys, well qualified and experienced faculty, well-equipped Laboratories, facilities for sports and cultural activities, uninterrupted power & water supply ad round the clock security for the students which has created an excellent learning atmosphere. The college is affiliated with KSNC (Karnataka State Nursing Council Bengaluru) and INC (Indian Nursing Council).

    Eligibility Criteria and Government Seat for Nursing Courses:-

     Eligibility Criteria for GNM Nursing (3 years)

    In the proviso to rule 8(5) Karnataka Nurses, Midwives, and Health Visitors rule 1964 & Act 1961 it is informed to all the Management/Principals of Schools of Nursing in Karnataka State to follow the following guidelines strictly while admitting candidates to GNM course.

    • Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
    • Minimum education: 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
    • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/ HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
    • Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or science examinations or in health care science - the vocational stream only conducted by the national institute of open school with 40% marks.
    • 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board with 40% marks.
    • Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
    • The student shall be medically fit.

    For Foreign Nationals

    The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed

    B.Sc Nursing (4 years

    Eligibility for B.Sc Nursing (4 years)

    • Pass in PUC / PDC (10+2) or passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate Education established by state Govt./ Central Govt. with English as one of the subject and Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects.
    • In case of the stream of vocational higher secondary course conducted by the board of vocational higher secondary examination Kerala, the candidates shall have taken subjects including English, Physics, Chemistry, & Biology individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (PCBE) taken together in the qualifying examination.
    • For candidates belonging to SC, ST, or other backward classes, the mark obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English have taken together in qualifying examination should be a minimum of 40%.
    • Candidates should produce an Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka
    • The candidates should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission

    Admission To  B.Sc. Nursing (Government Seat) 

    The government of Karnataka in its GO AKUKA 84 MMC 2019 Bangalore dated:31-08-2019, has authorized the Directorate of Medical Education for selection of candidates through online counseling for admission to B. Sc Nursing, BPT, B.P.O, and B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences courses for the seats in Government colleges and Government seats in private colleges

    How to apply:
    Step 1:Enter all the details through ONLINE by browsing URL on website http://kea.kar.nic.in by selecting “B.Sc Nursing, B.P.T, B.P.O,, and Allied Health Sciences-2019 Online Registration”. After completion of entry of all the details candidates will receive an application ID and Password to their registered mobile phone number and to an email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen.
    Step 2:Upload the scanned copy of the recent passport size Colour Photograph, Signature, and Left Hand Thumb Impression in JPG / JPEG format separately.
    Step 3:The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in the prescribed method.
    Step 4:Take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper and the same copy should be produced during document verification.

    Post Basic B.Sc Nursing

     Eligibility for  Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (2 Years)

     A candidate seeking admission must:

    • Hold a Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM).
    • Be a registered nurse.
    • Have passed Pre-university examination in Arts/Science/Commerce by conducted by Department of Pre. University Education, Karnataka State or it's equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
    • Have knowledge of English
    • Should be medically fit
    • Have a good personal and professional record.
    • Candidates should produce an Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka
    • The age of a candidate who is above 48 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission shall not be eligible.

    Admission To POST BASIC B.Sc. Nursing (Government Seat)

    Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA)PG Entrance Test

    For M.Sc Nursing Post Graduate Entrance Test- is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility for admission of students to M.Sc (Nursing courses in Government/ Private/ Aided/Unaided Minority/Non-Minority Nursing, within the State of Karnataka for the academic year 

     Post Graduate Entrance Test is being conducted for admission to Post Graduate Courses in Government colleges and Government seats in Private Colleges, in accordance with the Government Orders No. HFW 14 RGU 2018, Bangalore, dated: 26-03-2018. 

    Eligibility: A candidate who fulfills the following criteria is eligible to appear for the Entrance Test: 

    1. The candidate should be a citizen of India
    2. The candidate should have passed B.Sc Nursing (Basic) or B.Sc. Hons. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka (RGUHS), or any other University located in Karnataka state, accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The institution should have been recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. SC/ST candidates should have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
    3. Passed B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka (RGUHS), or any other University accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
    4. Minimum of one year of experience after obtaining a B.Sc. Nursing (Basic), in a Hospital or in a Nursing educational Institution or Community Health setting (completed or completed on or before the Date of Counselling. For candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing Degree, no such experience is needed after graduation.
    5. The candidate should have registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.
    6. Shall be a registered nurse and registered midwife for admission to branches
    7. The Candidate should not have attained the age of 45 years on the last date fixed for submission of an application to the PG Degree Entrance Test.

    Conduct of Entrance Test:(Duration, Nature of Question Paper)

    • The Entrance Test will be conducted in English.
    • There will be one Question Paper (booklet) consisting of 100 questions with a duration of 90 minutes.
    • Questions will be of objective type, each question having one best response out of four possible alternatives iv. Each question carries one mark. The correct answer will be awarded- one mark. If more than one alternative is marked for a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer. Wrong answers carry no marks.
