Categorization of Seats:-

  • Government seats: Merit Seats against which the Director, LBS Centre makes allotment is called ‘Government Seats’

(a) Government seats are available in all the Government Colleges, Government Controlled Self Financing Colleges, and in Private Self Financing Colleges that are willing to share 50% of their seats with the Government.

(b) Candidates who seek admission in Private Self-financing Nursing Colleges are bound to accept the conditions stipulated in the agreement between Government and Self Financing Nursing College Management(s) and deemed to have accepted such conditions

(c) In the case of self-financing Nursing Colleges run by institutions having minority status granted by the Government of the National Minorities Commission, 20% of the Government seats shall be filled up from among the candidates belonging to the minority community running the college, on the basis of merit. In case, sufficient candidates are not available from the concerned community, the balance seats will be filled up from State Merit as per the usual norms

  • Management seats: Seats other than ‘Government seats’ filled up by management as per interse merit Changes can be made only with Government approval.

Mandatory Reservation The Government seats for each course in Govt./Aided/KAU/KVASU/KUFOS Colleges will be distributed as per the mandatory reservation principle as contemplated in G.O. (P) 208/66/Edn. Dated 2.5.1966, G.O.(Ms)No.95/08/SCSTDD Dated 06.10.2008, GO(Ms) No. 10/2014/BCDD Dated 23.05.2014 and as modified from time to time. Criteria of Eligibility for B.Sc Nursing Admission:

Nativity: Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission to professional courses unless otherwise notified. Holders of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cards/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), will also be treated at par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation.

Candidates seeking admission to the courses will be categorized as ‘Keralite’, Non-Keralite category I(NK-I) and Non-Keralite category II (NK-II).

  • Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’ as per G.O.(Rt) No.822/08/H.Edn dated 29.05.2008. But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation
  • Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils anyone of the following conditions will be categorized as 'Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I).
  1. A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defense Service, posted to Kerala.
  2. A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.
  3. A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5(five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years of his/her study.
  4. A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.
    Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
  • Non-Keralite Category II [NK II]: Candidates who do not come under ‘Keralite’ or 'Non-Keralite Category I' will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralite Category II'. They will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/ Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Academic Eligibility for B.Sc Nursing Admission:

Should have passed Higher Secondary examination conducted by Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examination equivalent thereto as approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.
Should have separate minimum pass mark for Physics Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology put together.
Age: the Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2020. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit except for candidates under service quota. The upper age limit for candidates under service quota will be 46 years for B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc.(M.L.T) and B.Sc. Optometry as on 31st December of that year. No relaxation of the minimum age will be allowed.

HOW TO APPLY:-

Application for admission to all the courses - B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (M.L.T), B.Sc. Perfusion Technology, B.Sc.(Optometry), B.P.T., B.C.V.T., B.A.S.L.P, B.Sc. MRT, B.Sc. Dialysis Technology , BOT can be registered only online through a single application. The provision for applying online is available at the website www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in. Submission of more than one application by a candidate will lead to rejection of the candidature.

Application fee :-

For General candidates : Rs.800/-
For SC/ST candidates : Rs.400/-
For Service Candidates : Rs.800/-

Step 1: Registration:-Candidate should click the button “NEW CANDIDATE”. The personal details of the candidates have to be filled in the page thus obtained.
Step 2: Fee payment :- At this step, the candidate has to make the payment of the application fee by way of Online Payment or by way of challan
Step 3:Application Entry:- A registration ID will be provided to the candidate. Candidate should note this Registration Id and password which are required for future login. Candidate should keep them confidential. The candidate should fill all the remaining items in the application entry stage including academic data. The facility to upload the corresponding certificate / document in respect of claims if any will be available against each entry in the application. The Candidate shall click the corresponding button and upload the files
Step 4: Final Confirmation and Print Application:- After completing step 3, the candidate can preview the application before confirmation and submission. After Preview the candidate has to accept the declaration and make final submission. The facility to accept the declaration (Tick box) will be enabled only if all the mandatory fields are filled and the uploading of supporting documents and images are completed. Candidate should then take a printout of the Application for future reference.

Procedure for Registering Options : Any candidate, who wishes to register his/her options, should have the ‘Application number’, ‘Registration Id and ‘Password’ readily available with him/her. The candidate should follow the procedure given below for registering options:

(i) Log on to the Candidate’s Home Page through the website www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in using the Application Number, Registration Id and Password.
(ii) Select the ‘Option Registration’ link from the menu.
(iii) Register Options.
(iv) Save the Options registered.
(v) View and Print the List of Options registered.
(vi) Log off from the ‘Candidate Portal’.

ALLOTMENT:-

There will be three regular online allotments and spot allotments.

Management Seat for B.Sc. Nursing:

Allotment of seats in government-controlled self-financing colleges and private self-financing colleges will be college/institution-wise.

Admission Procedure for PB B.Sc. Nursing

The Private Nursing College Management Association of Kerala (PNCMAK) conducts the admission process for P.B. B.Sc. Nursing in Kerala for the management quota seats in self-financing nursing colleges, following the directives of the Honorable Supreme Court of India. The admission process is carried out systematically through a Centralized Allotment Process (CAP), ensuring merit-based selection.

Eligibility for PB B.Sc. Nursing Admission:

Candidates seeking admission to the P.B B.Sc. nursing course should have successfully completed a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course of 3 years or 3½ years duration that is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks. Additionally, the candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the 10+2 level. Candidates must also be registered as Nurse and Midwife with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.

Application Process for PB B.Sc. Nursing:

The application process for admission to the P.B. B.Sc. Nursing course is conducted exclusively online. Candidates must visit the official website of PNCMAK (www.pncmak.in) and complete the application procedure by following the steps outlined below:

  1. Registration: Candidates must enter their personal details and create a login ID and password.
  2. Payment of Application Fee: The application fee is Rs. 1200/- for all candidates and is payable online using a credit card, debit card, or internet banking. Only upon successful payment of the fee will the application process move to the next stage.
  3. Submission of Application Form: After completing the payment, candidates should upload a recent photograph in JPEG format (maximum size of 30 KB) and submit their preferred choices of 10 colleges.
  4. Final Submission: Once all the required details are entered and the fee is paid, the candidate should finalize and confirm the application submission. No printout of the application is required to be sent to any office.

Merit List Preparation: The merit list is prepared strictly based on the marks secured by the candidates in the GNM course and other eligibility criteria. The merit list remains valid until 31st January 2025 or any later date as specified by the competent authority. Inclusion in the merit list does not guarantee admission unless all other eligibility conditions specified in the prospectus are met. If any candidate provides false information, their candidature and admission will be canceled.

Centralized Allotment Process (CAP): The allotment of seats is done through a Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) managed through a Single Window System (SWS). The allotment to different colleges is based on the options submitted by the candidates and the merit list published on the website. The selection of candidates from the minority community is carried out based on the directives of the Honorable Supreme Court. Candidates claiming eligibility under any community quota must furnish valid documents at the time of admission.

Admission and Fee Payment: Selected candidates will be notified through SMS to the registered mobile number. Candidates should remit all fees for the first year at the time of admission, which is non-refundable under any circumstances. The fee structure stipulated by the Fee Regulatory Committee/Government of Kerala is as follows:

  • Tuition Fee: Rs. 73,025/-
  • Special Fee: Rs. 23,300/- (first year) and Rs. 19,300/- (second year)
  • Caution Deposit: Rs. 10,000/- (Refundable)

A part of the tuition fee amounting to Rs. 10,000/- should be remitted online as a confirmation of acceptance of the admission within the specified time. If the payment is not remitted within the prescribed time, the candidate's application will be removed from the admission process. Candidates discontinuing the course after the closing of admissions will be required to pay the full course fee for the remaining duration.

Admission Procedure for General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) in Kerala

The admission procedure for the GNM course in Kerala is done by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Kerala, or respective Nursing Councils. The process follows a standardized approach across government, government-controlled, and private nursing colleges offering GNM programs.

The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course is a diploma-level nursing program with a duration of 3 years followed by 6 months of internship/clinical training. The course aims to prepare students to become competent nurses who can work effectively in hospitals and other healthcare settings.

Eligibility Criteria for GNM Admission in Kerala

  1. Academic Qualification: Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 40% marks. Preference is given to students with a background in Science, particularly with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
  2. Minimum Marks: A minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination is required, but some institutions may have higher cut-off percentages.
  3. Age Limit: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as of December 31 of the year of admission. The upper age limit for admission is 35 years.
  4. Medical Fitness: Candidates should be medically fit and provide a certificate to this effect from a registered medical practitioner.

How to Apply for GNM Admission

  1. Online Registration:
    • Candidates are required to register online by visiting the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Kerala or the respective institution where they seek admission.
    • Applicants should fill in personal, academic, and contact details accurately.
  2. Payment of Application Fee:
    • The application fee can be paid online through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI.
    • Application fee ranges from ₹500 to ₹1000 depending on the institution.
  3. Uploading Required Documents:
    • Scanned copies of certificates such as:
      • SSLC or equivalent certificate for proof of date of birth.
      • Plus Two/ Higher Secondary Certificate.
      • Mark sheets and transfer certificate.
      • Medical fitness certificate.
      • Community certificate for reservation (if applicable).
      • Nativity certificate (if applicable).
  4. Final Submission:
