English must be a compulsory subject in 10+2. Married candidates are eligible with a medical fitness certificate, and must maintain 80% theory and 100% practical attendance to appear in final exams. Candidates awaiting 10+2 results and those from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with science subjects are also eligible. Final selection is based on performance in the entrance test conducted by Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), HP.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
COMMON/ CENTRALIZED COUNSELLING
(a) There will be online counselling to provisionally allocate seats to eligible candidates based on merit-cum-choice/preference of colleges and category/quota. Candidates must fill and submit the online application form and then fill their choices of colleges and quota. Merely paying the fee is not enough—candidates must click “Final Submit” to complete the application.
(b) Admission to Government and Private Nursing Colleges (both State & Management Quota) will be done through online allotment as per schedule by the Common Counselling Committee, chaired by the Director of Medical Education & Research, HP. The Controller of Examinations, AMRU, is the Member Secretary.
(c) After the 1st round, candidates can download the provisional allotment letter from their login and must report to the allotted college with original documents and a printout of the application form and allotment letter.
(d) The College Admission Committee verifies eligibility, documents, medical fitness, and fee payment. If a candidate doesn’t report in time, the seat is cancelled without notice.
(e) The 2nd round will be conducted after the first, and candidates will be allowed to submit fresh preferences. If a candidate is satisfied with their seat from the 1st round, they need not participate in the 2nd. If they want upgradation, they must submit fresh choices. Upgradation is allowed from one college to another based on merit and availability.
(f) Candidates not allotted any seat in Round-1 can directly fill choices in Round-2 without registering again.
(g) If reserved category seats remain unfilled, they will be offered to other categories in a specific order (SC to ST, then to General, etc.).
(h) Candidates can also choose colleges not currently showing vacancies, as some may become available due to seat reshuffling.
(i) Himachali Bonafide candidates admitted under Management Quota in Round-1 can be upgraded to State Quota in Round-2.
(j) A Mop-Up Round (and extended Mop-Up, if needed) will be held for candidates who haven’t taken or are not holding any seat. Upgradation is not allowed in the Mop-Up round except from Private to Government colleges or from Management to State Quota.

The Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree is a 2-year course offered in both Government and Private Nursing Colleges. Eligibility Criteria: Admission to the Post-Basic B.Sc. INSTRUCTION FOR FILLING UP ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
To fill out the online application form for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing in Himachal Pradesh, candidates must visit the official website www.amruhp.ac.in, go to “Admission” > Apply for Admission/counselling > Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Course, and select the desired course for the 2024-25 session. Applicants should carefully fill in their Name, Father’s Name (as per 10th mark sheet), email ID, and mobile number. After entering the email, they must verify it using an OTP received on the email and complete a captcha code. The mobile number and email ID must be unique and used only once for registration. Candidates can apply for multiple courses using the same email ID after verification. Here is the exact text from the official prospectus regarding counselling rounds for Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing 2024–25 in Himachal Pradesh:
COMMON / CENTRALIZED COUNSELLING
(a) There will be online Counselling to provisionally allocate seats to eligible candidates in order of merit-cum-choice/preferences of college and category/quota. (d) Eligibility will be confirmed by the College Admission Committee. If a candidate fails to report or complete the process on time, their seat will be automatically cancelled, and the seat will be considered vacant for the next round.
(e) In the 2nd round of counselling, fresh preferences must be submitted. If a candidate is satisfied with the seat from the 1st round, participation in the 2nd is not required. However, for upgradation, fresh preferences are mandatory. Upgradation is allowed from one college to another based on merit and available seats.
(f) Candidates who resigned or were not allotted a seat in Round-1 can directly fill choices for Round-2 without re-registration.
(g) Any vacant reserved category seats (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) will first be offered to other reserved categories and then to General category if still unfilled.
(h) If a candidate is allocated a Government Nursing College seat in 2nd round and does not join, they will not be allotted any seat in further rounds.
(i) Candidates are advised to fill choices even for colleges not showing vacancies because seats may become available due to reshuffling.
(j) Himachali Bonafide candidates admitted under Management Quota can be upgraded to State Quota in the 2nd round, if they applied and meet the criteria.
(k) A Mop-up round (and possibly extended Mop-up) will be conducted for those not holding any seat from the first two rounds. No inter-college upgradation is allowed in this round, except from private to government or management to state quota.
(l) Candidates must regularly check the website www.amruhp.ac.in for updates. No separate communication will be made.
