Admission Process

Commissioner, State CET CELL, Mumbai Common counseling MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BPTh/ BOTh/BASLP/BP&O/B.Sc.(Nursing) for admission to Health Science course in all Government / Corporation / Government Aided / Government Unaided / Minority Institutions on the basis of merit list of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG) In order to be eligible for admission to Health Science Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum marks in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test’ held for the said academic year, besides obtaining minimum prescribed marks at the qualifying examination as prescribed by respective central council.

No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as prescribed by the respective Central Council shall be admitted to respective Course in the said academic year. All admissions to Health Science courses within the respective categories shall be based solely on merit (AIR) in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.

Application process and provisional Merit list :-

The Commissioner, State CET CELL, Mumbai will conduct the admission process for all the Health Science courses in the State of Maharashtra. Online applications will be invited from eligible candidate(s) for admission to all Government/Corporation, Private & Minority Colleges. Online application form will be made available on website www.mahacet.org

Admission processing Fee: Cost of online application form of NEET-UG is Rs. 1000/- for State quota and for Institutional quota Rs. 5000 and for both quota Rs. 6000/-. This application fee is not refundable, hence candidates are advised to go through the Information Brochure and ascertain the eligibility. It is sole responsibility of candidate to ascertain eligibility and also online payment of fees with in prescribed period, failing which online application will be rejected.

The provisional State merit list for seats under State quota in Government / Corporation, Government Aided and all the quota seats in Private/ Minority colleges will be published on the website of State CET CELL as per constitutional and / Or specified reservation claimed by candidate(s). The list of applicants will be prepared on the basis of information submitted by candidate(s) through online process made available on website www.mahacet.org. The provisional state merit list will be prepared on the basis of the information filled in the registration form and the documents uploaded by the Candidate. The verification of Original Documents shall be done by the admitting college authorities in which the candidate submits her/his documents for admission.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO HEALTH SCIENCE DEGREE COURSES :-

  • The candidate must be an Indian National.
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Candidate will be eligible for Government / Corporation / Government Aided / Private unaided college for academic year 2020-21 onwards. Provided such candidate have passed 10th& 12th from the State of Maharashtra and should be domicile of Maharashtra or staying in state of Maharashtra for minimum period of 10 years
  • Eligibility for Institutional Quota :- Eligibility for Institutional Quota :- Any eligible candidates on All India basis can be admitted including non-Resident Indians (NRI) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), as well as Outside Maharashtra candidate (OMS) who had appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and declared eligible for admission to undergraduate Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Prosthetic and Orthotics and B.Sc. Nursing Courses, in accordance with inter-se-merit amongst candidates who apply for institutional quota seats. However NRI candidate will be preferred. These seats will be filled by respective institute by calling application at the respective institutions from all eligible candidates. (As per Notification No. MED. 1016/C.R.69/16/Edu-2 of Medical Education and Drugs Dept. Government of Maharashtra
  • Domicile of Candidate: - The Candidates must be Domicile of Maharashtra (EXCEPT :- All India basis can be admitted including non-Resident Indians (NRI) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), as well as Outside Maharashtra candidate (OMS))
  • AGE:- The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 2004 to be eligible for all Heath Science Courses. The Birth certificate indicating name of the candidate, Secondary School Certificate i.e. SSC or equivalent examination certificate or School Leaving Certificate endorsing the date of birth will constitute a valid proof. ( Upper age limit for Admission to B.A.M.S., B.U.M.S and B.H.M.S degree Course – Not more than twenty-five years on or before 31St December of the year of admission in the first year of the course. Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed by five years in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward classes and Physically Handicapped candidates.)
  • For B.Sc. Nursing - A candidate should have passed in the subjects of PCB and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB at the qualified examination i.e. (10 + 2). Furthermore, the candidates belonging to SC / ST or other backward classes, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 45% as stated above. English is a compulsory subject in 10 + 2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc.(N) OR as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council from time to time.

CERTIFICATES:-

The following certificates in original and their attested photocopies must be Produced/ submitted for scrutiny at the time of physical document verification, as well as at the time of admission.

  • Admit Card and Mark sheet of NEET UG Examination.
  • Nationality Certificate issued by District Magistrate/Addl. District Magistrate or Metropolitan Magistrate (Competent Authority for issue of such certificate)/valid Indian Passport or School Leaving Certificate of HSC/12th Std. indicating the nationality of the candidate as ‘Indian’.
  • Domicile Certificate issued by District Magistrate/Metropolitan Magistrate/ Addl. District Magistrate or Competent Authority for issue of such certificate.
  • SSC i.e. 10th Standard or equivalent examination certificate or school leaving certificate or Birth certificate indicating name of the candidate (for DOB).
  • HSC i.e. 12th Standard or equivalent examination Statement of Marks
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • Online Application Form filled on www.mahacet.org
  • Aadhar Card
  • If applicable following certificates.

Constitutional reservation claim:-

a) Caste Certificate

b) Caste Validity Certificate (CVC)

c) Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for VJ, NT1, NT-2, NT-3, & OBC including SBC) issued by appropriate authority as specified in the Government Resolutions from time to time and should be valid up to 31/03/2023. (Annexure-G)

d) Eligibility Certificate for (EWS) economically weaker section.

Document Supporting Religions Minority Status of the candidate:

(a) The person belonging to Jain / Muslim / Christian minority have to produced School leaving certificate stating that Candidates belongs to Jain / Muslim / Christian minority, and / or

(b) Certificate from Religious place that they belongs to Jain / Muslim /Christian Minority.

(c) Affidavit stating that they belong to Jain / Muslim/Christian Minority.

Applicant belongs to Gujrathi/Sindhi Minority:

(a) The person belonging to Gujrathi/ Sindhi minority have to produce School leaving certificate stating that Candidate belongs to Gujrathi,/ Sindhi, and / or

(b) Affidavit stating that they belongs to Gujrathi / Sindhi Minority.

Applicant belongs to Hindi Linguistic Minority :

(a) The candidate belonging to Hindi Linguistic minority should produce school / College Leaving Certificate stating the candidate mother tongue in Hindi or the Certificate of Head Master/ Principal certifying that his/her mother tongue is Hindi. And

(b) Affidavit of Candidate / Parents stating that he /she belongs to Hindi Linguistic Minority

DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS TO BE ALLOTTED BY THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY: for In Government / Corporation / Government Aided / Private Unaided / Minority colleges.

  • All the seats for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BPTh, BOTh, BASLP, BP&O & B.Sc. (Nursing) courses will be filled by the candidates from the State Merit List.
  • 85% seats under State quota will be made available for all the candidates from the State and these seats shall be filled on the basis of NEET Merit list. There shall be constitutional and female reservation in these seats as per prevailing Rules in this behalf.
  • 15% Institutional quota for MBBS/BDS course in Private/Minority colleges shall be filled on the All India basis which shall also include eligible NRI, OCI candidate and candidate from other State (OMS). These seats will be filled by competent authority through CAP. Such seats if remain vacant after all CAP round will be surrendered to respective institute for institutional level round.
  • 15% Institutional quota for other than MBBS/BDS course in Private/Minority colleges shall be filled on the All India basis which shall also include eligible NRI, OCI candidate and candidate from other State (OMS). These seats will be filled by respective institute by calling application at the respective institutions from all eligible candidates

CONSTITUTIONAL RESERVATIONS:

The candidate should have claimed the constitutional reservation in the original Online application form for the State of Maharashtra. For claiming of category, Request for category claim after submission application form will not be granted. During document verification process, if constitutional category claim is found to be incorrect, same will be rectified as per the document(s) available with the candidate. However no fresh claim for constitutional reservation i.e. from open category to reservation category will not be considered. The Caste Certificate and the Caste/ Tribe Validity Certificate:- If a candidate claiming reservation in online application form does not submit online / produce document, then he/she will be automatically considered in open category if otherwise eligible for Open Category

If the seats still remain vacant then these seats will be filled by Inter-se ,merit from the above three combined common group of reserve candidates.,
If the seats still remain vacant then these seats will be filled by Inter-se merit among the candidate of the common state merit list.

RESERVATION FOR FEMALE CANDIDATES: 30% seats at the disposal of the Competent Authority shall be reserved for female candidates in all the courses. This reservation shall be for all the categories like SC, ST, VJ, NT-1, NT-2, NT-3, OBC, , EWS, Common, HA, MKB & DEF and will be operated in parallel. If requisite numbers of female candidates are not available, then these seats shall be offered to male candidates of that category.

CRITERIA FOR DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS FOR MINORITY INSTITUTIONS:

  • All the seats at Minority College will be filled by the respective minority candidate and if particular Minority candidate is not available then the remaining seats will be filled by general candidates.
  • There will be 25% seats of the total intake capacity from Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions shall be reserved for constitutional reservation category candidates as notified under sub section (1) of section 5 of Maharashtra Act No XXX of 2006 Dated 01/08/2006.
  • In all private unaided institution, all the seats will be distributed uniformly at State level. There shall be 30% female reservation. There shall not be any other specified reservation
  • One percent seats from Open category are reserved in parallel for Orphan category candidate

Mop-Up Round (s): After conducting two or more CAP rounds of seat allotment for Government /Corporation /Private aided / Private Unaided / Minority colleges, if seats remain vacant due to non allotment, nonreporting for admission and resigning after joining or any other reason, those seats will be filled in Mop-Up round(s). INSTITUTION LEVEL ROUND FOR VACANT SEATS AFTER CAP Mop-Up ROUNDS: If the seat(s) remain vacant in Private Unaided /Private Minority Colleges after all CAP Mop-Up Rounds, the said seats shall be filled in by the Institution through Institution Level Round with the prior approval of the Competent Authority. The Dean or Principal of the institutions shall carry out the admission for these vacant seats by calling applications from eligible candidates for State quota on the basis of inter-se merit from the list of NEET-UG.

PAYMENT OF FEES: The fee for the course should be paid at the respective college by Demand Draft from any Nationalized / Scheduled Commercial Bank in favor of Dean/Principal of College, as applicable.
