The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) was established by an Act of the State Legislature (Act No. XXV of 2002). Under the Act, the Board is entrusted with the task of conducting entrance examinations and recommending selection of candidates for admission to various Professional courses in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh. These Programmes, interalia, include Nursing/Para-Medical/B.Sc. Technology Courses as per SRO-505 dated 20-08-2019 issued by Health and Medical Education Department J&K Government. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir in its efforts to create skilled and technical manpower to meet demands of changing times, imparts technical education and develops technological skills through various courses at different levels. Full Time B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Para-Medical / B.Sc. Technology Course are offered in various Government and Private Para Medical Colleges of the UT of J&K/Ladakh.
Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or the Union Territory of Ladakh, as applicable. For candidates belonging to the Union Territory of Ladakh, an ST certificate issued by the competent authority of Ladakh shall be considered valid proof of domicile. The applicant must have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2025, and the upper age limit for admission shall be 35 years. The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (12th Standard) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects and secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in PCB for the Open Merit category and 40% for reserved categories, namely SC/ST-I/ST-II/OBC/ALC/IB/RBA, taken together. The candidate must also have passed English individually, as it is a compulsory subject for eligibility to B.Sc. Nursing. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 with Science subjects and English from a State Open School recognized by the State Government or from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government are also eligible. FEE STRUCTURE (Tentative): The fee structure has not been furnished by the respective College authorities and the BOPEE is not in any way associated with it and has, therefore, no responsibility, if the fee is raised subsequently. GENERAL INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS: Candidates appearing in the Entrance Test conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) are expected to act with sincerity, honesty, and responsibility, and must not resort to any unfair or fraudulent means, including impersonation. If any candidate is found indulging in such misconduct, criminal proceedings shall be initiated against him/her and any abettors or facilitators, in addition to permanent debarment from appearing in future Entrance Tests. Applicants must carefully read the e-Information Brochure, ensure that they fulfill all prescribed eligibility conditions, and submit the Online Application Form through the official website (www.jkbopee.gov.in) within the notified dates. Selection in any category shall be subject to the production and verification of original certificates by BOPEE/concerned College at the time of admission. No separate intimation regarding non-selection shall be issued, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained; however, the result will be available at BOPEE offices in Jammu and Srinagar and on the official website. The selection made by BOPEE shall remain provisional until final verification of eligibility by the concerned Board/College, and BOPEE reserves the right to review or cancel any provisional selection at any stage in case of bona fide error, fraud, misrepresentation, impersonation, or ineligibility. Mere inclusion in the selection list does not confer any right to admission if the candidate is found otherwise ineligible. Complaints regarding certificates, including reserved category certificates, will not be entertained, as BOPEE is neither an appellate authority nor an investigating agency. Permission to appear in the Entrance Test shall be provisional, subject to verification of eligibility and validity of certificates as on the date of e-filing of the Application Form. The Answer Key shall be uploaded on the BOPEE website on the evening of the examination (around 6:00 PM) or by 12:00 noon the following day and will remain available for three days. Candidates having objections to any answer may submit a written representation within three working days, along with a fee of ₹1,000 per representation paid through POS Machine at the BOPEE office in Jammu/Srinagar, supported by documentary proof from standard textbooks in the prescribed format. No representation shall be accepted after the stipulated period. The Answer Key will be reviewed based on valid representations, and the revised key, if any, shall be final and binding on all candidates and will be applied uniformly, irrespective of whether a candidate has filed a representation. OMR answer sheets are machine-graded, scanned, and double-checked with utmost care; therefore, re-evaluation or rechecking is not permitted. However, re-totaling of marks may be allowed upon a written request submitted within three days of the declaration of the result, along with payment of ₹1,000 per subject at the BOPEE office in Jammu/Srinagar; applications received after the stipulated time shall not be entertained.
APPLICATION FORM: The Application Form must be submitted online only through the official website of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) at www.jkbopee.gov.in using the designated URL/link within the prescribed dates, which shall be notified separately. A non-refundable application fee of ₹1,000 (Rupees One Thousand only) is to be paid online through the Integrated Payment Gateway using any national Credit Card or Debit Card facility. Detailed information regarding the procedure for filling up the Application Form, eligibility criteria, and other important instructions is provided in the e-Brochure. Applicants are strongly advised to carefully read the Brochure before filling out the online Application Form. The photograph must include the candidate’s nameplate and the date on which the photograph was taken, while the signature and thumb impression must also strictly adhere to the specified size limits. |
| 6. | Candidates should click on the link titled “Instructions for Uploading Documents” and carefully follow the guidelines for scanning their documents—such as Domicile Certificate or undertaking, Date of Birth Certificate, Marks Sheet, Category Certificate, and any other applicable certificate—into PDF format for uploading. The link also provides options to compress the PDF files to the prescribed size to ensure successful submission. The required file size for each of the specified PDF documents must be between 100 KB and 200 KB. | 8. | To begin filling out the online application form, click on the “Click Here to Fill Application” link/button. A new window displaying important instructions will appear; carefully read these instructions, select the checkbox stating “I have read the instructions,” and then click on the “Apply” button. The application form page will then open, where you must enter all required details and upload your Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression (PST). After completing the form, enter the verification code shown in the captcha image in the designated text box and click on the “Submit” button. If any information is incomplete or invalid, the system will display relevant error messages; otherwise, a page showing your submitted details will appear, allowing you either to verify the information for correctness or to edit and make necessary corrections. Please note that registration details are generally non-editable once finally submitted; however, if you need to make changes before final confirmation, you may click on the “Click Here to Edit Your Registration Details” link and revise the information as required. Once all details are verified as correct, click on the confirmation link, after which an Application Number (e.g., Your Application No: 22000400001) will be generated, and a message confirming successful submission along with a notification that a confirmation email has been sent to your registered email ID will be displayed. If you wish to proceed with payment immediately, click on “Step 2 – Click Here to Make Payment”; otherwise, you may close the popup window and complete the payment later within the prescribed time. |
| 9. | To make the online payment, click on the “Make Payment” link/button, after which a page displaying relevant details will appear. Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and the verification code shown on the screen, and then click on the “Submit” button. If the entered details are correct, a “Pay” button with the title “Make Payment Online” will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Upon clicking this button, a page outlining the payment procedure, refund policy, and related instructions will open; carefully read the instructions, select the checkbox stating “I have read the Instructions,” and then click on the “Proceed for Payment” button. You may complete the payment using any available mode, including Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. After successful payment, a Transaction Acknowledgement page containing the transaction details will be displayed, which you should either note down or print for future reference. DETERMINATION OF MERIT: The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination (12th Class) in case the Entrance Examination is not conducted. However, if an Entrance Examination is conducted, selection for admission to the programme shall be based on the candidate’s performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET) and fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility criteria. The Board shall prepare the merit list in descending order of inter-se merit of candidates appearing in the CET (B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Para-Medical / B.Sc. Technology Courses)–2025 separately for the Open Merit Category and for each Reserved Category. For allotment of seats to reserved category candidates in Government Colleges, inter-se merit within the respective reserved category shall be considered. In the event that the number of candidates belonging to a reserved category is less than the number of seats available in that category, the resultant vacant seats shall be filled from among candidates of the Open Merit Category strictly in order of merit. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks in the Entrance Test, their inter-se merit shall be determined by higher marks obtained in the Biology component of the test; if still tied, then by higher marks in Chemistry; if still tied, then by higher marks in Physics; and if the tie persists, the candidate older in age shall rank higher. Any further tie shall be resolved on the basis of the first alphabet of the candidate’s name. The same criteria shall apply for resolving ties in merit if the Entrance Examination is not conducted. In case of online counselling, general and technical instructions for filling up preferences shall be notified separately.
Eligibility Criteria:
GNM Nursing: Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or the Union Territory of Ladakh, as applicable. For candidates belonging to the Union Territory of Ladakh, an ST certificate issued by the competent authority of Ladakh shall be treated as a domicile certificate. Applicants must have attained the age of 17 years and must not be more than 35 years as on 31-12-2025. The candidate should have passed 10+2 with English and secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination as well as in English individually from any recognized board. Candidates who have passed from a State Open School recognized by the State Government or from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government are also eligible. Preference will be given to candidates from the Science stream. Candidates who have completed 10+2 with English and secured 40% marks in a Vocational ANM course from a school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, or 10+2 with English and 40% marks in the Vocational Stream–Health Care Science from a recognized CBSE Board/Centre, are also eligible. Candidates appearing or who have appeared in the 10+2 (12th Class) Examination 2025 may also apply, provided they qualify the examination on or before the declaration of the Common Entrance Test result or before the notified date of counselling; failing which, their candidature shall stand cancelled ab initio. For lateral entry to the GNM course, candidates holding a Diploma in FMPHW/MMPHW/ANM and registered with the State Allied & Healthcare Council J&K shall be eligible, with no upper age limit. A male nurse who was trained prior to the implementation of the new Integrated Course, in addition to being registered with the J&K Nursing Council, shall be required to produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery, in any one of the following specialties: O.T. Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, T.B. Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, or Orthopedic Nursing. Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the final year/semester of the GNM Examination in 2025 and whose results are awaited may also apply, subject to the condition that they must submit the final year/semester marks card at the time of admission, failing which their candidature shall be deemed to have been cancelled ab initio. GENERAL INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS: Candidates appearing in the Entrance Test conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) are expected to maintain the highest standards of honesty, discipline, and integrity and must not resort to any unfair means, fraud, or impersonation; any such act shall invite criminal proceedings against the candidate and his/her abettors, along with permanent debarment from future Entrance Tests. Applicants must carefully read the e-Information Brochure, ensure fulfillment of all prescribed eligibility conditions, and submit the Online Application Form through the official website within the notified deadline, and appear in the Entrance Test, if conducted, at their own expense. Selection in any category shall be subject to production and verification of original certificates at the time of admission, and mere inclusion in the selection list shall not confer any right to admission if the candidate is found ineligible. BOPEE reserves the right to review or revise the provisional selection list at any stage in case of any bona fide error, fraud, misrepresentation, impersonation, or injustice. Candidates claiming reservation under relevant Government Orders must upload valid certificates issued by the designated authority along with the Application Form, and those applying under the Sports Category must indicate the same in the form and submit required sports certificates to the J&K Sports Council within the prescribed timeline, failing which they shall be considered under the Open Merit Category; merit under Sports Category shall be determined by assigning 60% weightage to qualifying/entrance test marks (if conducted) and 40% to sports points or as amended by the Government from time to time. Complaints regarding certificates shall not be entertained, as BOPEE is neither an appellate nor investigating authority. Permission to appear in the Entrance Test shall be provisional, subject to eligibility as on the date of submission of the online application. The Answer Key shall be uploaded on the official website shortly after the examination and remain available for three days; candidates may submit representations within the stipulated period along with the prescribed fee and supporting documentary proof, after which the revised key, if any, shall be final and binding on all candidates. OMR answer sheets are machine-graded with utmost care and shall not be re-evaluated or rechecked; however, re-totaling of marks may be permitted upon written request within three days of declaration of results along with payment of the prescribed fee at the BOPEE office at Jammu or Srinagar. No individual intimation regarding non-selection shall be issued, and results shall be available at BOPEE offices and on the official website; all selections shall remain provisional until final determination of eligibility by the concerned Board/College.
APPLICATION FORM: The Application Form must be submitted online only through the official website of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) at www.jkbopee.gov.in using the designated URL/links within the prescribed dates, which shall be notified separately. A non-refundable fee of ₹1,000 (Rupees One Thousand only) is required to be paid online through the Integrated Payment Gateway using any national Credit Card or Debit Card facility. Detailed instructions regarding the procedure for filling out the Application Form, eligibility criteria, and other requirements are provided in the e-Brochure, which candidates must carefully read before submitting the online form. Applicants may download the admission notification, Brochure, instructions, Admit Card, and other relevant information from the official BOPEE website or obtain assistance at Common Service Centres (CSCs) across Jammu & Kashmir on payment of nominal charges. They may also avail services at the National Informatics Centre (NIC) located in the office of the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district. Candidates are advised to complete the online Application Form themselves or with the help of a responsible person. INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR FILLING UP ONLINE APPLICATION FORM:

| 5. | Candidates should click on the link titled “Instructions for Uploading Images” and carefully follow the guidelines for scanning and uploading the Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression. The link also provides options to compress the images to the prescribed size for successful uploading. All images must be in JPEG format and adhere to the specified size limit of 10 KB to 50 KB. The photograph must clearly display the candidate’s nameplate and the date on which the photograph was taken, while the signature and thumb impression must also be uploaded in the required format within the same size range. |
| 6. | Candidates should click on the link titled “Instructions for Uploading Documents” and carefully follow the guidelines for scanning the required documents into PDF format for uploading. These documents include the Domicile Certificate or undertaking, Date of Birth Certificate, Marks Sheet, Category Certificate, and any other applicable certificates. The link also provides options to compress the PDF files to the prescribed size to ensure successful submission. Each PDF document must be within the size range of 100 KB to 200 KB. The documents to be uploaded include the Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or Union Territory of Ladakh, as applicable (for candidates belonging to the UT of Ladakh, an ST certificate issued by the competent authority shall be accepted as a valid domicile certificate), the Date of Birth Certificate (10th Class), Marks Card of the 10+2 examination, Marks Sheets of the qualifying examination, i.e., GNM marks cards, and the Reserved Category Certificate wherever applicable. |
| 7. | Before proceeding to fill out the online application form, candidates must ensure that they have the required soft copies readily available. These include a recent Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression in JPEG format within the prescribed size limits, all necessary scanned documents in PDF format as specified, and valid Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking credentials to complete the online payment process smoothly. |
| 8. | To fill out the online application form, click on the “Click Here to Fill Application” link/button. A new window containing important instructions will appear; carefully read the instructions, select the checkbox stating “I have read the instructions,” and then click on the “Apply” button. The application form page will then be displayed. Enter all required details and upload your Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression (PST). After completing the form, enter the verification code shown in the captcha image in the text box provided at the bottom and click on the “Submit” button. If any information is incomplete or invalid, the system will display appropriate error messages; otherwise, a page showing your submitted details will appear, allowing you either to verify the correctness of the information or to edit and make necessary corrections. Please note that registration details are generally non-editable once finally submitted under normal circumstances. However, before final confirmation, you may click on the “Click Here to Edit Your Registration Details” link and make corrections as many times as required. Once you confirm that all details are correct, click on the confirmation link, after which an Application Number (e.g., Your Application No: 22000400001) will be generated and a message stating “Application Submitted Successfully, Thank You for Registering” along with a notification that a confirmation email has been sent to your registered email ID will be displayed. If you wish to proceed with payment immediately, click on “Step 2 – Click Here to Make Payment”; otherwise, you may close the popup window and complete the payment later within the prescribed timeframe. |
| 9. | To make the payment, click on the “Make Payment” link/button, after which a page displaying relevant details will appear. Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and the verification code shown on the screen, and then click on the “Submit” button. If the information entered is correct, a “Pay” button with the heading “Make Payment Online” will be displayed at the bottom of the page. Upon clicking this button, a page outlining the payment procedure, refund policy, and related instructions will open. Carefully read the instructions, select the checkbox stating “I have read the Instructions,” and then click on the “Proceed for Payment” button to complete the transaction. After successful payment, a Transaction Acknowledgement page containing the transaction details will be displayed, which you should either note down or print for future reference. If you wish to upload your documents immediately, click on “Step 3 – Click Here to Upload Document”; otherwise, you may close the window and complete the document upload later within the prescribed timeframe. |
| 10. | To upload the required documents, click on the “Upload Documents” link/button, after which a page displaying relevant details will appear. Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and the verification code shown on the screen, and then click on the “Submit” button. If the entered information is correct, a page listing the various document categories along with “Choose File” buttons will be displayed. Click on each respective “Choose File” button and select the appropriate PDF document for uploading, wherever applicable. After selecting all the necessary documents, tick the declaration checkbox provided at the bottom, enter the verification code as shown in the captcha image, and click on the “Upload” button. If the uploaded documents meet the prescribed size and format requirements, they will be successfully uploaded, and options to view or delete the uploaded documents, if required, will be displayed. After confirming by viewing that the correct documents have been uploaded, you may safely close the window. |
| 11. | To print the Application Form, click on the “Print Application Form” link/button. A preview page displaying the complete application form with all submitted details, including payment information, will appear on the screen. Carefully verify the details and then click on the “Print” button provided at the bottom of the page to obtain a hard copy of the Application Form. Candidates are advised to keep the printed copy safely for future record and reference. |
| 12. | To check the status of your application, click on the “Check Application Status” link/button, after which a page will appear prompting you to enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and the verification code displayed on the screen. After entering the required details, click on the “Submit” button. If the information provided is correct, the system will display the relevant sections, including the Application Status, which indicates whether the form has been verified by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE), the current status of the application, and the payment status along with a link to print the e-receipt. The Documents Uploaded section will show the list of documents submitted, their status, and options to view or upload the respective documents, if required. |
| 13. | If at any stage you forget your Application Number, click on the “Forgot Application No.” link/button. A page will appear prompting you to select your Examination Type and enter your Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, and the verification code displayed on the screen. After entering the required details, click on the “Submit” button. If the information provided is correct, your Application Number (e.g., 22000400001) will be displayed on the screen. After retrieving your Application Number, it is strongly recommended that you close the browser window(s) to ensure the security of your information. |
DETERMINATION OF MERIT: The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying examination (GNM Course) in case the Entrance Examination is not conducted. However, if an Entrance Examination is held, selection for admission to the programme shall be based on the candidate’s performance in the CET (Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course)–2025 and fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility criteria. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations shall prepare the merit list in descending order of inter-se merit for the Open Merit Category and separately for each Reserved Category. For allotment of seats to reserved category candidates in Government Colleges/Institutes, inter-se merit within the respective reserved category shall be considered. In the event that the number of candidates in a reserved category is less than the number of seats available in that category, the resultant vacant seats shall be filled from candidates in the Open Merit Category strictly in order of merit (applicable to Government Colleges/Institutes only). In case two or more candidates secure equal marks in the Entrance Examination, their inter-se merit shall be determined by the marks obtained in the Entrance Test; if the tie persists, the candidate older in age shall be given preference; and in case of a further tie, the first alphabet of the candidate’s name shall be considered. The same criteria shall apply for resolving ties even if the selection is made purely on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination in the absence of an Entrance Test.
Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or the Union Territory of Ladakh, as applicable; in the case of candidates belonging to the Union Territory of Ladakh, an ST certificate issued by the competent authority of Ladakh shall be treated as a domicile certificate. The candidate must have passed B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from an institution duly recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. He/she must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) or possess an equivalent qualification registered with any State/UT Nursing Registration Council. Additionally, the candidate must have a minimum of one year of work experience after completion of B.Sc. Nursing or at least one year of work experience either prior to or after completion of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, as applicable. Candidates claiming any reserved category must possess a valid Reserved Category Certificate issued by the competent authority, and all applicants must be medically fit.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations shall prepare the merit list in descending order of inter-se merit for the Open Merit Category and separately for each Reserved Category. For allotment of seats in Government Colleges/Institutes, inter-se merit within each reserved category shall be considered, and if the number of candidates in any reserved category is less than the number of seats available, the unfilled seats shall be transferred to the Open Merit Category strictly in order of merit (applicable to Government Colleges/Institutes only). In case of a tie in the Entrance Test, inter-se merit shall be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Examination; if the tie persists, the candidate older in age shall be given preference, and in case of a further tie, the first alphabet of the candidate’s name shall be considered. Where no Entrance Test is conducted and selection is based purely on qualifying examination marks, and two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks, inter-se merit shall be determined by giving preference to the candidate older in age (as per Date of Birth), and if the tie still continues, the first alphabet of the candidate’s name shall be taken into account.
