
Sri Nirvanaswamy College of Nursing, Bangalore Rural was established in 2003, is located on the outskirts of Bangalore. The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). It is held for students seeking admission to undergraduate courses such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Nursing and other professional programs in colleges across Karnataka. KCET provides eligible candidates with a fair and transparent pathway to secure seats in government and private institutions within the state.
As per Government Order No. MED 51 RGU 2023 dated 13-04-2023, candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. (Nursing) must register for CET-2025 through the KEA online portal and appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by KEA in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually in II PUC / 12th Standard (10+2). A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in PCB is required. Candidates belonging to Karnataka SC/ST/OBC categories are eligible with 40% aggregate marks in PCB. This relaxation applies only to Karnataka candidates.
Important Note: Non-Karnataka candidates are not eligible for reservation and are also not eligible for Government quota seats in B.Sc. (Nursing) admissions through KEA.

Eligibility: Candidate must have completed and passed a qualifying Diploma or GNM course from a Government institution or a Karnataka Government–recognized educational institution located within the State of Karnataka. Additionally, the candidate should be domiciled in Karnataka for a minimum of 10 years and must have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years.

Certificates to be produced at the Time of Document Verification:-
i. Final printout of the online application form.
ii. Proof for having paid the application fees.
iii. S.S.L.C marks card (for proof of Date of Birth).
iv. Marks Card of II-PUC or equivalent examination.
v. Diploma marks card of all Years. (for B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences)
vi. Marks Card of General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) of all years ( for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing).
vii. Karnataka State Nursing Council Registration certificate ( for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing).
viii. Domicile certificate for 10 years in Karnataka (issued by the Tahasildhar) and study certificate for having studied seven years in Karnataka.

ix. Caste Certificate / Caste Income Certificate / Income Certificate obtained from the concerned Tahasildhar, for the candidates claiming Reservation benefits. (Caste and Income Certificate in Form ‘D’ in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and in Form ‘E’ in case of Category-I and a Caste Income Certificate in Form ‘F’ for other backward classes like 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, issued by the jurisdictional Tahasildhar).
x. Hyderabad-Karnataka Region Reservation (Article 371 (j):) Candidates claiming must submit the certificate in Annexure – A (eligibility certificate – rule3(3))issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner during document verification.

Guidelines for Filling the Online Application Form: As applicants are required to upload their photograph while submitting the online application, they must keep a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph ready. The photograph should be taken on or after 01/09/2025, clearly display the candidate’s name and date on the photograph, and be scanned in .jpg format as per the prescribed specifications for uploading.

Requests for change of category after submission of the application will not be considered. Applicants must correctly mention their religion, caste, and sub-caste. The complete postal address should be entered in BLOCK LETTERS, clearly indicating the city, state, and PIN code; contact details such as telephone number with STD code or mobile number and email ID may also be provided. Candidates must indicate whether they are claiming reservation under the Persons with Disabilities quota and/or the Hyderabad–Karnataka (HK) Region by selecting Yes or No. After carefully verifying all the details entered in the online application, click the SUBMIT button. The system will then prompt for uploading the scanned passport-size photograph in .jpg format as per the specified guidelines. Upon successful submission, an Application Number will be generated, which should be noted for future reference, and a printout of the completed application should be taken.
How to apply:
Step 1: Enter all the details through ONLINE by browsing URL on website http://kea.kar.nic.in by selecting “ Post Basic B.Sc Nursing & B.Sc Allied Health Science (lateral Entry) -2025 Online Registration”. After completion of entry of all the details candidate’s will receive an application ID and Password to their registered mobile phone number and to email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen.
Step 2: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Color Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in JPG / JPEG format separately.
Step 3: The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in the prescribed method.
Step 4: Take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper and the same copy should be produced during document verification.
NOTE: The application form may be edited any number of times before it is finally declared and submitted. Once the application is declared and submitted, further editing will not be permitted, and only payment and final printout options will remain enabled. Candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria for admission to the respective course, as any ineligibility detected at any stage by the Government, KEA University or Apex Body will result in cancellation of candidature and may attract legal action.
