Sri Venkateswara College of Nursing was set up in 2002 to provide Nursing education to the poor and underprivileged. It is permitted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh (G.O. Ms. No. 350, dated 16.10.2000) and recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.The College is affiliated with DR. Seat Distribution For B.Sc Nursing Colleges in Andhra Pradesh:-

B.Sc Nursing ( 4 years)- As per G.O.Ms.No.330, HM&FW (K1) Department, dt.11-11-2011, in respect of the Government colleges 100% Nursing seats shall be Competent authority, will be filled by the University. In unaided Non-minority and Minority institution, 60% of the total number of seats shall be filled as competent authority seats by the University and the remaining 40% of seats shall be filled by the college as management seats.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Nursing:

The Candidates who Qualified in the Andhra Pradesh EAPCET – 2023 and Fulfilled the following criteria for Admission into B.Sc Nursing Courses have to submit their online application form by paying the non-refundable application and processing fee online and Upload the scanned certificates/Documents required for Competent Authority Quota Seats. The candidates should qualify in Andhra Pradesh EAPCET - 2023, conducted by Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education, Mangalagiri, A.P.

The candidates should be of Indian Nationality or persons of Indian origin (P.I.O) / Overseas citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and should satisfy the local or non-local status in Andhra Pradesh (Residence requirement) as laid down in Andhra Pradesh educational institutions (Regulations of admissions) order, 1974.

Eligibility Criteria for Post Basic B.Sc Nursing:

Education Qualifications(As per Indian Nursing Council Regulations):

• Candidates seeking admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) Course should have passed Two year Intermediate Examination of the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana (OR)Any other equivalent examination (10+2 pattern)or NIOS or APOSS recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.
• Should have passed General Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by the Govt.,of A.P. or Nursing Council of India and shall be registered with the State Nursing Council.

NOTE: The Candidates who studied 1 ½ year MPHW are not eligible for admission into Post Basic B.Sc(N) 2YDC.

Age:

Government Service Candidates:

• Should have completed 2 years of service as a staff nurse in the Medical and Health Department and Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad as on 31.07.2023.
• Must be a Regular employee.
• Service regularization/probation declaration orders as a staff nurse and Service Certificate issued by the HOD concerned should be uploaded to consider under Service Quota.
• Temporary / contract employees in Government and employees working in private hospitals are NOT ELIGIBLE for service quota seats.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc Nursing:

• The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife of equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
• The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
• The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution that is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
• Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
• Minimum one year of work experience prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
• Both the Service and Non-service candidates should not have completed 45 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission. For candidates belonging to SC and ST's the maximum age limit shall be 48 years

SELECTION PROCESS:

• There is no entrance test for admissions into M.Sc(N) course
• The selection of Candidates will be made by the selection committee as per the merit list.
• The merit list will be prepared on the marks obtained in B.Sc(N)/ B.Sc., Hons (Nursing)/Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) group, and languages put together (all subjects) up to two decimal places.
• In case equality aggregate marks, age shall be taken into consideration and older candidates shall be given higher places in the merit list

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT OF CANDIDATES WHOSE DOMICILE OF ANDHRA PRADESH / TELANGANA

The Non-local candidates are eligible for 15% Unreserved seats only. The Local candidates are eligible for both 15% unreserved seats and 85% local area seats.

RESERVATION IN FAVOUR OF THE LOCAL CANDIDATES

Admission to 85% of the available seats shall be reserved in favor of the Local candidates concerning the local area as provided in A.P.

• The part of the State comprising the Districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam (Andhra University Area) shall be regarded as the local area for the purposes of admission to the Andhra University
• The part of the State comprising the Districts of Adilabad, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Warangal shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to the Osmania University, ** (the Kakatiya University)
• The part of the State comprising the Districts of Ananthapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Nellore (Sri Venkateswara University) shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to Sri Venkateswara University

Reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes.

• Out of the available seats for admission by the University 15% for SCs and 6% for STs shall be reserved in each local area. If any seat reserved for the Scheduled Tribes is not filled-up they will be open to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and ViceVersa.
• If the candidates from Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes are not available these reserved seats shall be re-allotted to candidates of open competition on the basis of merit.
• Candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes belonging to Andhra Pradesh which are specified in the list as per the Government orders will be considered against the reserved seats.

Reservation for BC Candidates:

29% of the available seats for admission in each local area Under Dr. YSR UHS for B.Sc(Nursing) course shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Backward Classes as follows:-

• Only those Candidates who belongs to these castes of the States of Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana which are listed in the Government orders shall be considered under the respective categories.
• If qualified candidates belonging to Backward Classes of a particular group are not available, the left-over seats can be adjusted for the candidates of next group. If qualified candidates belonging to Back Ward Classes are not available to fill up the 29% seats reserved for them, the left-over seats shall be treated as Open Competition seats and shall be filled up with candidates of open competition on the basis of merit.
• While calculating the number of seats in the Sub-categories if the total number of seats falls short of or exceeds 29% it shall be limited to 29% by adding or eliminating the candidates on the basis of merit in the sub-groups in which the fractions were rounded to nearest figure.
• In working out percentage of reserved candidates under SC, ST and BC categories, a fraction less than 0.5 will be ignored and if the fraction is 0.5 or more, it will be counted as one

Certification of Caste:

Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class candidates shall in support of their claim, have to furnish latest Integrated Caste Certificate with Barcode obtained from Government of AP/Telangana in the prescribed form issued by the Concerned Authority. If the certificate is not in the prescribed form, candidates will not be considered for selection under the reserved quota.

RESERVATION UNDER PwD (Person with Disability) CATEGORY:

• Out of the available seats for admission by the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, 5% shall be reserved for the Person with Disability (PwD) in each category of OC, SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D and BC-E as per Government of India guidelines
• The candidate seeking the benefit of reservation should present him/herself before a Medical Board constituted by the University. Such candidates have to appear before the Medical Board, to be constituted by the Competent Authority and notified by the University for Eligibility under PwD status along with a valid disability certificate issued not later than three months before submitting his/her application. The report of the Medical Board is final for considering a candidate under PH quota as per rules.

Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:

• The minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for M.P.H.W(F).
• Minimum education:
  • 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
  • 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  • 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
  • Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
• The student shall be medically fit.
• Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examinations or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
• Students shall be admitted once a year.

For foreign nationals

. The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible for ensuring that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

GNM Nursing (3 years)-GNM Admission procedure is divided into two categories, i.e., Government seat and Management seat. DR. Y.S.R UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES will be doing Counseling for 100% seats for Government, Government aided Central Universities, National Institutes, and 40% seats for private college. 60% Management Quota Seats Will Be filled directly by the private college.

Reservation

1. For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria concerning age and qualification will be the same as prescribed for each nursing program.
2. 5% of total marks is relaxed for SC/ST candidates
3. Any other reservation as per the State Govt.

SELECTION PROCESS:

• Online GNM admission application.
• The detailed notification & online application is available on the DME official website http://dme.ap.nic.in.
• After the selection of the candidates, they will indicate the selected candidates online.
• 85% of seats in the local areas are reserved in favor of local candidates in relation to the local area and the remaining seats are un-reserved as per A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of admissions order 1974 as issued in G.O.P No. 646 Edn. (W) Dept., Dated 10-07-1979).
• Out of the seats available for admission - 15% for SC, 6% for ST, and 25% for BCs are reserved.
• Waiting list with Ten (10) eligible candidates may be selected extra for the waiting list for each Institution to avoid the second-time selection process.
