Vinayaka Mission College of Nursing,( Vmcon) is situated in the AVMCH (Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital) campus Cuddalore main road, kirumpakkam20 km away from Puducherry. Heads its office in unique and own building with 3.15 acres of land. Situated in the unitary building with well-established infrastructure facilities as per the Indian Nursing Council norms.

• The nursing college possesses well-maintained latest audio-visual equipment like wall mount Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Projectors, Overhead Projectors and LED Television, Charts, Posters, and Models
• laboratories are well-furnished and equipped with dummies / mannequins /specimens / models / puppets / charts / posters / instruments / bones / trays / advanced types of equipment and other related articles to practice nursing procedures efficiently and have sufficient exposure to hone their basics in nursing service
•  Nursing students are really privileged to have clinical exposure in their own parent multi-specialty hospital with 650 bed strength and other affiliated multi-specialty hospitals. Our multi-specialty hospital caters to a large number of the needy, as inpatients and out-patients, providing specialized care in all the departments. The average daily out-patient attendance is more than 1000 and average in-patient attendance is 450 at present and this guarantees adequate clinical materials with modern laboratories for the students to be exposed to a broad spectrum of diseases and their management. Free treatment is given to the public.
• The nursing college has got its own library in addition to the central library shelved around -4291 textbooks of national and international authors with latest edition of books were add in every year budget. In addition to this departmental library 200 each of five departments also there is access for600 e-learning books. Nursing & nursing-related science books in different titles, current Indian and foreign journals as required are adequately stacked to cater the needs of students of all three Nursing Programs viz., B.Sc.(N), P.B.B.Sc.(N) and M.Sc.(N) and faculty members.
• Separate well-furnished hostels for girls and boys are available on the college campus which is spacious, well-ventilated. Students are provided ozonized, purified RO water; hygienically prepared and high-quality vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are also served. Students can spend their leisure time in the park, playground, and canteen.
• the institute has its own fleet of buses for safe transport for outreach services and observational visits for the students. Students will be taken every week for shopping. There is transport facility for the clinical areas as well as for the day scholars.

NAME OF THE COLLEGES UNDER THE FACULTY OF NURSING OF THE UNIVERSITY:-

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENROLLMENT:- 

B.Sc. (Nursing):-

• He/ She shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, of the year of admission to the program
• The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years Course)
• An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English with a minimum of 35% for SC/ST candidates and 45% for the others

 P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing):-

• He/ She should have qualified in Diploma in Nursing and be a registered Nurse and Midwife in the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council or any other State Nursing Council accepted by the University
• After GNM with the Registration Certificate from the state nursing council, the candidate can be permitted to join in the program without work experience
• A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of in any one of the areas such as O.T. Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, Orthopedic Nursing, and Occupational Nursing

M.Sc. (Nursing)

• The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
• The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
• The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC)
• Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing

ADMISSION:-

1. The students applying for the program for this University are offered admission on the basis of merit through “ALL INDIA COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE)” followed by a counseling process conducted by the University.
2. The Admission procedure for the CEE conducted by the University for this Programme is mentioned separately.
3. The minimum percentage of marks obtained from the above CEE for eligibility for admission to this program shall be 50% for general category candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
4. Non-Resident / Foreign Nationals can be admitted up to 15% of total seats as per norms and guidelines of the University. They are exempted from the CEE stated in clause 6.1., but their merit will be ascertained based on their performance in qualifying examination approved by the Government and the University.

REGISTRATION:-A candidate admitted to the program in the Faculty of Nursing and a Constituent Nursing Colleges of the University shall register with the University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form for registration dully filled in and forwarded to the Controller of Examinations of this University through the Head of the Institution within the stipulated date.
