The Armed Forces Medical College & Hospital College Of Nursing, Pune is a Private College, The institute was set up on 01 May 1948 by the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee by the amalgamation of various defence medical organizations. The "Graduate Wing" of AFMC was established on 04 August 1962 to provide a sustainable and steady intake of medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces. The institute is presently affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the MCI for conducting undergraduate and various post graduate medical courses.

Introduction:
Admission to the B.Sc Nursing course in Maharashtra is conducted through the Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test (MHTCET) in Government and Private Colleges across the state. Selection is based on merit and the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must be Indian citizens, they should have passed the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, securing a minimum of 45% marks for the general category and 40% for reserved categories. Additionally, candidates must obtain at least 50 percentile for Open category in the MH-Nursing CET, while those from reserved categories require a minimum of 40 percentile. The minimum age requirement is 17 years (born on or before 31st December 2007), with no upper age limit.

Additional reservations include 5% for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) (40%-50% locomotor disability of the lower extremity) and 5% for Children of Defence Personnel (Def-1: Ex-servicemen’s children, Def-2: Active personnel domiciled in Maharashtra, Def-3: Active personnel transferred to Maharashtra, with a maximum of 5 seats per college). Orphan candidates get 1% reservation, while 30% of seats are reserved for female candidates across all categories. Minority reservations apply to Jain, Muslim, Christian, Gujarati, Sindhi, and Hindi Linguistic minority candidates in designated institutions.

Candidates must be Indian citizens (proof required) and within the maximum age limit of 45 years (General) or 50 years (Reserved). They must have passed the HSC (12th) exam from the Maharashtra Board or an equivalent recognized institution with English as a subject. Maharashtra domicile is mandatory, with a certificate signed by the competent authority. Applicants must have completed GNM Nursing from an INC & MNC-recognized institute and hold a valid Maharashtra Nursing Council registration (renewed till 2027).
For government in-service candidates, five years of continuous service is required, along with a work experience certificate. Selection is based on aggregate marks in the General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course. In case of a tie, preference is given based on HSC marks, SSC marks, and seniority by age, respectively.

Additionally, candidates must have at least one year of work experience post-registration. Selection will be based on aggregate marks obtained in B.Sc. Nursing / P.B.B.Sc. Nursing.
