AINE (Asian Institute of Nursing Education), the first private Nursing Institute in North East India established By Dr Unmona Borgohain Saikia in 2004 with a B.Sc Nursing Course under INS trust, recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Assam Nursing Council and affiliated to SNDT Women’s University (5 star NAAC accredited). SNDT is the first Women’s University in India and having All India Jurisdiction for affiliation. In 2009 M.Sc Nursing course started and subsequently in 2011 the Post Basic B.Sc. The nursing course was started under Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam. The Institute is rated as best Nursing College in North East India. The Institute has well experienced and highly qualified faculty in all disciplines. A five storied building for classroom and administrative office, located at Ganeshguri easy access by any means of communication, which is close to GNRC and GMCH and other health care centre. Asian Institute of Nursing Education is attached to Parental GNRC Hospital (Dispur, Sixmile, North Guwahati): GNRC Hospital was established during the year 1987 with bed strength of 150 and has been rendering excellent heath services. The Institute has its own hostel, situated at Usha Nagar-Dispur, for B.Sc. Nursing , M.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing students. The college has well-equipped laboratories like Nusing Art Laboratory, Medical-surgical Nursing Laboratory, Community Health Nursing Laboratory, MCH Nursing Laboratory, Nutrition Laboratory, Anatomy and Physiology Museum and Micro Biology and Bio Chemistry Laboratory (Parent hospital). The students are sent for clinical exposure in the following hospitals:

Admission Process

ADMISSION CRITERIA OFB.Sc Nursing

  • The application forms should be obtained from the office of Asian Institute of Nursing Education with submission of Rs.1000/- in cash /Bank draft/Bankers cheque drawn in favor of Asian Institute of Nursing Education payable at Guwahatior Form may be downloaded from AINE website and submit the Bank draft/Bankers cheque of Rs.1000/-along with filled up form and necessary documents.
  • All the columns in the application form have to be filled in by the candidate’s own handwriting.
  • The following should be enclosed along with the application: -
    • The certification for Academic Details and signed by the principal where candidate has studied 10+2.
    • H.S.C. Passing Certificate
    • H.S.C .Mark Sheet
    • School Leaving Certificate
    • Migration certificate from University/Board
    • Community certificate belonging to scheduled Tribe/Schedules Caste/Backward class.
    • The information given in the application form should be correct. Incomplete or late application will be rejected.

Method of Selection & Admission:

  • The entire eligible candidate will be required for a written common entrance test. The test will include multiple-choice questions in physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, General Knowledge & General ability.
  • The test will be in English & to do well a working knowledge of the Science subjects in English is essential. Student who have their schooling in the regional medium are asked to take rate of this & prepare accordingly.

A limited number of candidates will be selected for the final interview.
The candidates will be allowed for the interview only if the original mark list of the qualifying examination is available.

The decision of the selection committee will be final.

ADMISSION CRITERIA OF POST BASIC B.SC. NURSING

  • Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university.
  • Obtained a certificate in diploma General Nursing and Midwifery with Minimum 45% &above.
  • Registered as R.N, R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
  • Candidates shall be medically fit.
  • Admission is made on the basis of personal interview and the marks obtained in the GNM examination.
  • A certificate stating of good conduct from the principal of the college/school in which the candidate last attended.
  • Candidate should be within 45 years of age on 31st January of the year of admission shall be eligible.

ADMISSION CRITERIA OF M. SC. NURSING

(2 years, English medium) with 4 specialties:

  • Medical –Surgical Nursing
  • Community Health Nursing
  • Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing
  • Child Health Nursing.
  • Have passed B.Sc. Nursing degree (Basic/ Post basic) recognized by any University under the Govt. of India and INC.
  • Must be a registered nurse and a registered midwife.
  • Have minimum 1 year experience after obtaining Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree, in hospitals or nursing educational institutions or community health setting needed after graduation.
  • For Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing no such experience is needed after graduation.

Method of Selection & Admission

  • The entire eligible candidate will be required to appear a personal interview. Candidate must bring all original certificates, mark sheets and necessary relevant document on the day of the interview.
  • The decision of the selection committee will be final.
