The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE), established under the J&K Legislature Act No. XXV of 2002, conducts entrance exams and recommends admissions to professional courses in J&K and Ladakh. For the 2025 academic year, BOPEE will admit candidates to B.Sc. Nursing, Para-Medical, and B.Sc. Technology courses in government and private colleges. Admission will be based on an entrance test or academic merit, depending on the number of applicants. If applications exceed seat availability, a written entrance test will be conducted as per relevant laws and regulations.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. Nursing Programme must meet the following requirements:
Domicile: Must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh. For candidates from Ladakh, a valid ST certificate issued by the Competent Authority shall be considered as proof of domicile.
Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December 2025. The upper age limit is 35 years.
Educational Qualification:
Compulsory English: English must be a mandatory subject in the qualifying examination (10+2).
Medical Fitness: The candidate must be medically fit.
Provisional Candidates: Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply and appear in the entrance test. However, they must produce the qualifying examination certificate at the time of admission in the allotted college/institute. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of their candidature.

DECLARATION OF RESULT: After the Entrance Test, the answer key will be displayed on the BOPEE website either on the test date evening or by noon the next day, and it will remain available for three days. Candidates can challenge any discrepancies in the question paper or answer key by submitting a representation, along with supporting proof from a standard textbook, within three days. A fee of Rs. 1000 per representation, payable at the BOPEE office, is required. The representations will be reviewed by experts, and the final revised answer key will be uploaded. No further complaints will be entertained afterward. Candidates can request re-totaling within three days of the result declaration, with a fee of Rs. 1000. The result will be published in two local dailies and uploaded on the BOPEE website. The selection process will be notified separately.
To be eligible for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing Programme, a candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh (for Ladakh candidates, a valid ST certificate issued by the competent authority will be considered as a domicile certificate). The candidate must have passed B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with at least 55% aggregate marks. Additionally, the candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or possess an equivalent qualification registered with any State or UT Nursing Registration Council. A minimum of one year of work experience after B.Sc. Nursing or one year of work experience either prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is also required.

The Application Forms for admission must be submitted online only through the official BOPEE website (www.jkbopee.gov.in) using the specific URLs/links provided, within the dates to be notified separately. An application fee of Rs. 1500/- is to be paid online via the Integrated Payment Gateway using any national credit or debit card. Detailed instructions regarding the application process and eligibility are available in the e-Brochure, which candidates are strongly advised to read carefully before filling out the form. Applicants can download the admission notification, brochure, instructions, admit card, and other important information from the BOPEE website, either at any Common Service Centre in J&K for a nominal charge or at the National Informatics Centre located in the Deputy Commissioner's office of their district. Submission of Online Application Forms:
The candidates (Both Open merit and Reserved Category) have to submit Online Application Forms only within the last date prescribed in the admission notification. The candidates can change/ modify their online Application Form at any time before they submit it. Once the form is submitted, the entries made therein cannot be changed. It is in the interest of the candidate to make double check before submitting the online Application Form. They are advised, in their own interest, not to share their login details with anybody, lest he/she may get an opportunity to change important details in the Application Form. They can check the status of their Application Form on the official website of the BOPEE. Such objections must be supported by evidence from standard textbooks and submitted in person at the BOPEE offices in Srinagar or Jammu within three working days, along with a payment receipt of ₹1000 per representation, payable at the POS terminal at the BOPEE offices. All representations will be reviewed by subject experts, whose decision shall be final. If any corrections are made, a revised key will be uploaded on the BOPEE website. No further complaints will be entertained thereafter. Candidates may also request re-totaling of their marks within three days after the result declaration, by submitting a written request along with a ₹1000 payment receipt. Late applications for re-totaling will not be accepted. The result will be published in two local newspapers and uploaded on the official website (www.jkbopee.gov.in), and the selection process will be announced separately.
Eligibility for Admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme: Candidates applying for admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme must meet the following eligibility criteria:
i) The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh. For candidates from UT of Ladakh, an ST certificate issued by the Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be considered as a domicile certificate.
ii) The candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board and must have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). Additionally, the candidate must be registered as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (R.N.R.M.) with the J&K Nursing Council. In the case of male nurses trained before the implementation of the new Integrated Course, registration as a nurse with the J&K Nursing Council is required along with evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery. This training should be in any of the following specializations: Operation Theatre Techniques, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, Tuberculosis Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing, or Orthopedic Nursing.
iii) Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the final year/semester examination of the GNM course in 2025 and whose results are awaited may also apply. However, they must produce their final year/semester marks card at the time of admission; failing to do so will result in the cancellation of their candidature without any further notice.
iv) The candidate must be medically fit.
