The Govt. College Of Nursing, Bankura is a Govt College. it was established in the year 2009 for BS.c Nursing. This College is affiliated to West Bengal Nursing Council And West Bengal Universty of Health Sciences. All courses are affiliated with Indian Nursing Council as well as West Bengal Nursing Council. The institution offers four years B.Sc. Nursing Course with its academic control by WBUHS and administrative control by Health & Family Welfare Department Government of West Bengal. The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing two years course with an annual intake of fifty and M.Sc. Nursing courses of three specialty vig. Child Health Nursing, Obstetric & Gynaecological Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing with an annual intake of five in each specialty was started in this institution from 2016. Parent hospital - B.S. Medical College was established in 1956 by Bankura Sammilani Trust. The college was taken over by Government of West Bengal in 1961.

B.Sc Nursing

WBJEE JENPAS -2020 is conducted for Admission to B.Sc. Nursing courses in different Government and Private Nursing colleges / Institutions of West Bengal. JENPAS (formerly known as JENPAUH) conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) on behalf of Central Selection Committee (Nursing), West Bengal Government College of Nursing (SSKM Hospital Campus) functioning under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. West Bengal B.Sc. Nursing admission 2020 will start from 2nd week of June (Postponed due to COVID-19 ) and the candidates who are looking forward to take admission in B.Sc. Nursing in West Bengal need to appear for the JENPAS (formally known as JENPAUH) Entrance Examination. JENPAS UG (formerly known as JENPAUH) entrance exam is a state-level entrance exam used for the admission of the various programs :-

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board is responsible for the admission process of the B.Sc. Nursing course. Candidates who have qualified in JENPAS UG 2020 and for B.Sc. Nursing are allowed to participate in the online counselling process

Pattern of Question Papers.

The test will consist of two papers namely

a) Physics & Chemistry (full marks 100) and

b) Biological Sciences (full marks 100).

Each paper will contain fifty (50) questions. All questions will be of Multiple- Choice Question (MCQ) type, with four answer options. Time for each paper is 2 hours. The questions will be in both English and Bengali language.

West Bengal B.Sc. Nursing Eligibility Criteria For JENPAS 2020(formally known as JENPAUH)

  1. Candidates must have passed 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum qualifying marks as stated below
  2. Candidates must not be below 17 years of age as on 31st December 2020.
  3. NO Upper age limit (as on 31/12/2020) For Nursing And BPT
  4. 45% and above marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) for unreserved category of candidates.
  5. 40% and above marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) for reserved category candidates (SC, ST, OBC and PWD).
  6. Candidates have to secure pass marks in each subject separately in theory and practical in (10+2) level examinations for both reserved and unreserved candidates. For example any HS passed candidate has to secure pass marks both in theory and practical separately for Physics, Chemistry and Biology and pass marks in English also.
  7. Criteria to be treated as domicile of West Bengal .Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either,

a)Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31.12.2019

OR

b) whose parent(s) is/are permanent resident(s) of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal.

Counselling/seat allotment and admission

a) A separate notification with details of counselling / seat allotment and admission will be published in www.wbjeeb.in and www.wbjeeb.nic.in in due course after publication of result.

b) Course-wise and institute wise availability of seats as to be provided by the Competent Authorities will also be published before counseling and seat allotment

The process of online allotment is as follows:

Round 1

  • Payment of counseling fees online
  • Generation of Payment Transaction ID
  • Registration for Counselling Process
  • Exercising of Choices and locking of Choices
  • Process of Seat Allotment - Round 1
  • Result Publication - Round 1
  • Verification of documents at auditorium of Academic Building of SSKM Hospital (only for candidates who have been allotted seats in any B.Sc. Nursing College in West Bengal).
  • Reporting at the allotted B.Sc. Nursing College against 1st Round

Round 2

  • Process of Seat Allotment - Round 2
  • Result Publication - Round 2
  • Verification of documents in the specified venue, for candidates who have been allotted a seat in B.Sc. Nursing College in West Bengal. Candidates already verified in earlier rounds need not re-appear for verification.
  • Reporting at the allotted Nursing Colleges against Round 2 seat allotment
  • Publication of total vacant seats

Subsequent round(s)

If There Are Vacant Seats Lying In The Colleges After 2nd Round Of Allotment Or If Any Additional New Seats Are Included In The Seat Matrix Due To Induction Of Any New Institute

Eligible For Subsequent Round(S)

Group-I: Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotment in the 1st or 2nd round of seat allotment.

Group-II: Registered candidates, whose 2nd round of allotted seat gets cancelled during the document verification or reporting for admission and who have secured seat under reserved quota, due to change of category from reserved to Unreserved or PWD status from Yes to No, but who would still be eligible in the next round of seat allotment, with changed criteria, subject to fulfilment of their eligibility conditions.

Group–III: Candidates who have given option for participation in subsequent round(s) at the time of 1st and/or 2nd round reporting at allotted institutions

Original documents for admission to B.Sc. Nursing courses are as mentioned below:

  1. Admit Card issued by WBJEEB 2020
  2. Rank information issued by WBJEEB 2020
  3. Allotment letter
  4. Age proof
  5. Class 12 Mark sheet and Certificate (provisional/final)
  6. SC/ST/OBC A or B certificate (if applicable)
  7. PWD certificate (if applicable)
  8. Domicile certificate (a1, a2 or b proforma as applicable)
  9. Medical Certificate
  10. 10. Aadhaar card/Voter card
  11. Verification certificate issued by the verification centre at Auditorium, Academic Building, SSKM hospital (PG Hospital)

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing:

  • Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination passed.
  • Professional Qualification: Registered General Nurse Midwives with minimum 3 years of experience
  • Advertisement for Admission: July
  • Entrance Examination: July
  • Counselling: August
  • The session begins: October

M.Sc Nursing:

  • Registered B. Sc. Nursing, B. Sc. (H) Nursing, and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% of marks in aggregate.
  • Experience: 1 year
  • Advertisement for Admission: July
  • Entrance Examination: July
  • Counselling: August
  • The session begins: October
