BASIC B.Sc. NURSING 

FOR ADMISSION INTO BASIC B.Sc. NURSING COURSE IN GOVERNMENT & ONMRC RECOGNISED PRIVATE NURSING COLLEGES OF ODISHA

  • Applications are invited for admission in Basic B.Sc. Nursing training course in all ONMRC recognized Government & Private Nursing Colleges
  • The duration of the training course is 4 years which includes theory and practical as per the prescribed syllabus of the Indian Nursing Council.
  • Both Female and Male candidates are eligible to apply. (10% seats reserved for Male candidate)
  • Admission for all seats in government institutions & 85% Govt. quota seats in private Nursing institutions will be filled up through the e-counseling process.
  • Private Institutions shall fill up 15% seats under management quota as per the eligibility criteria of INC.

-Eligibility 

Candidate must:- 

  • Be of a minimum of 17 years of age.
  • Have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) from CHSE, Odisha or any other Board or Council or University equivalent thereof.
  • Have passed 10+2 examination in Science (physics, chemistry & Biology) conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks are also eligible to apply.
  • Have passed in the subject of PCB & English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45%marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination i.e.(10+2). Candidate’s belongings to SC/ST, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 45 % as stated above. English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. Nursing Course.
  • Must have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia for all Govt. Nursing Institutions and 85% Govt. quota seats in private Nursing Institutions recognized by ONMRC.
  • Must be a domicile / permanent resident / native of Odisha but currently residing outside Odisha.( for all Govt. school of Nursing and 85% Govt quota seats in private nursing institutions recognized by ONMRC)
  • Both female / male candidates (only 10% reservation for male candidates out of total seats) are eligible to apply
  • Physically handicapped having locomotor disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% only will be taken into consideration. Candidates are advised to obtain their handicapped certificate from the competent authority of the concerned district. Candidates having more than 50% lower locomotory disability / any other disability will not be eligible for PH category.
  • Shall be medically fit for the course

  • In case of non-availability of eligible candidates from reserved categories, the seats will be filled up by the unreserved (UR) category candidates

-Admission Procedure

Candidates can apply for the Basic B.Sc Nursing Course online by applying in the appropriate application form available at the website: http://dohodisha.nic.in/

The e-counseling and admission Process involves the following steps:

-Publication of Provisional Merit List

 The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of career marks. 

 For calculating career marks, 50% of the aggregate marks secured in HSCE (10th or equivalent examination without extra optional) and 50% of the aggregate marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Biology in CHSE (10+2 or equivalent examination without extra optional) will be taken into consideration. 

  • For example: (if in 10thexamination 60% mark secured and in 10 +2 (Physics + Chemistry+ Biology = 50% of mark is secured then career marks will be 30 + 25 =55 marks)

 In case of more than one candidate having equal career marks, inter-se merit shall be taken into consideration as below in order of preference.

  1. Total marks secured in Biology at the qualifying Examination
  2. English marks in 10+2 exam.
  3. Seniority in the date of birth.

GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY (G.N.M)

ADMISSION INTO GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY (G.N.M) COURSE IN GOVERNMENT & ONMRC RECOGNISED PRIVATE NURSING SCHOOLS OF ODISHA

  • Applications are invited for admission in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) training course in all ONMC recognized Government & Private G.N.M training centers for the year.
  • The duration of the training course is 3 years which includes theory and practical as per the prescribed syllabus of the Indian Nursing Council.
  • Admission for all seats in government institutions & 85% Govt. quota seats in private institutions will be filled up through common merit list
  • Private Institutes shall fill up 15% seats under management quota as per the eligibility criteria of INC

-Eligibility

  • Candidate must be completed 17 years of age
  • The candidates must have passed
  1. 10+2 with 40% marks from CHSE Odisha or the equivalent thereof, However science is preferable.
  2. 10 +2/12th with 40% marks from state open schools recognized by state Govt. and National Institute of Open School recognized by Central Govt.
  3. 10+2 vocational ANM course with 40% marks from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council. Or
  4. 10 +2 Health Science vocational stream from a recognized CBSE board/ State/ Center
  5. Registered ANM with 10+2 pass.
  • 5% of the total mark is relaxed for SC/ ST candidates.
  • ASHA having 10+2 pass with 40% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates ) is eligible for applying for the GNM course.
  • Must have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia for all Govt. school of Nursing and 85% Govt. quota seats in private nursing institutions recognized by ONMRC.

  1. Qualifying stream.
  2. English marks in the 10+2 exam.

 M.SC NURSING 

ADMISSION AND COUNSELING NOTICE FOR M.SC NURSING COURSES FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION

  • The duration of the course is 2 years as per INC prescribed syllabus.
  • All seats in Govt. college of Nursing & 85% Govt. quota seats of private institutions will be filled up through counseling from the Central merit list approved by the State Selection Committee.
  • Private institutions will fill up 15% of seats under management quota following the eligibility criteria of INC New Delhi.
  • The list of institutions (Govt. &Private) recognized by ONMRC will be available on the Official website of the Directorate of nursing (www.nursingodisha.nic.in) for reference of the applicant for admission.
  • Candidate, who will be admitted into the M.Sc Nursing course, will not be allowed to work in any Govt / Private organization during the course period.

Eligibility Criteria:- 

  • The candidate must be Domicile/permanent resident/ native of Odisha (for All seats in Govt. College of Nursing, & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private institutions)
  • The candidate must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of ONMRC or equivalent of any other state nursing council.
  • The minimum educational requirements shall be B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from the institution recognized by the INC/ONMRC. 4
  • In case a candidate has registered his/her name in other State Nursing Council, will be allowed to participate in the state selection process and after admission, the selected candidates have to get registered under ONMRC and submit their reciprocal registration certificate at the respective college within two months from the last date of admission.
  • In case the selected candidate fails to produce the reciprocal registration certificate within the stipulated period, failing which the necessary action will be taken by the State Selection Committee, Odisha.
  • Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or one-year work experience prior to or after post-Basic B.sc. nursing
  • One year of “Work experience” either in teaching or clinical field will be taken into consideration. A certain criterion is to be considered for work experience.
  1. 1(One) year Work experience will be counted w.e.f. from the date of RN/RM registration from the concerned State Nursing Council to the last date of receipt of the application form.
  2. In Clinical- Working as a staff Nurse from any Govt. Hospital, Govt. Undertaking Hospital/public sector undertaking Hospital & Referral Hospital (Govt. &Private) /E.S.I Hospital approved by the state Govt/Govt. of India for treatment of their employees.
  3. In Teaching- Working as a Tutor /CI from INC/ONMRC recognized Nursing Institutions.
  4. The experience certificate submitted by the applicants will be verified by the Convenor for confirmation/genuineness from the concerned hospital (for clinical experience) or from the state nursing council (for teaching experience).
  5. In exceptional cases, the Director of Nursing, Odisha-Cum-chairperson of the state selection committee, will be empowered to decide about the candidature.
  • The candidate shall be medically fit for the course.
  • Must have passed minimum M.E standard Odia in case (Only for Govt. institutions and 85% Govt. quota seats in private institutions.)
  • Both Female and Male candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Must have obtained a “No objection Certificate” from the appointing Authority/Competent Authority to undergo the course ((for in-service candidates working in Govt. / Public sector undertaking /private sector). NOC must be submitted at the time of applying for the course. Without NOC the Application will be rejected.

-Selection procedure and reservation policies.

  • Selection will be made entirely on the basis of merit in the ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.
  • The entrance test for M.Sc (N) will consist of one paper of 3 hours duration, containing 150 multiple choice questions covering subjects taught in Basic Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing curriculum.
  • The questions will be of multiple choice type.
  • Wrong answers will Carry negative marks.
  • In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the Entrance Examination, their inter se merit will be determined in order of preference as under.
  1. Candidates obtaining a higher percentage of marks in the Basic B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Examinations.
  2. In case there is still a tie, according to Date of birth, the older candidate shall get preference over the younger one.

ADMISSION INTO POST BASIC B.SC NURSING COURSE IN ALL ONMRC RECOGNISED GOVT. & PVT. NURSING COLLEGES OF ODISHA

-Eligibility Criteria :- 

  • The candidate must be domicile/permanent resident/ native of Odisha (for All seats in Govt. College of Nursing, & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private institutions)
