B.Sc. Nursing

Eligibility for B.Sc. Nursing

The candidates should be citizens of India and should satisfy the local or non-local status in Telangana /Andhra Pradesh as laid down in Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of admissions) order, 1974 and the selection will be done as per the procedure laid down. Candidates shall secure the following of cutoff scores or above in TS- EAMCET – 2023 to be eligible for admissions in accordance with the regulations of the Indian Nursing Council.

  • Eligible TS - EAMCET- 2023 qualified Candidates have to apply online and upload the original certificates in response to notification to be issued by KNRUHS. The merit rank notified after verification of certificates by KNR University of Health Sciences, shall be the basis for selection into B.Sc.,(N) 4Ydc course into Competent Authority Quota seats.
  • 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board. SC/ST and BC categories are eligible with 40% aggregate marks in the science group subjects (Biology and Physical Sciences).
  • Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2023.

Admission Rules

All certificates will be verified again at the college level. Admission will be cancelled if documents are found false or incorrect. Course starts as per schedule by Indian Nursing Council. No transfers between colleges allowed during the course. Disciplinary rules strictly apply; ragging is prohibited.

M.Sc. Nursing

Eligibility
To be eligible for admission into M.Sc. Nursing courses under the Competent Authority Quota, as per G.O. Ms. No. 150 HM&FW(C1) Dept., dated 28-10-2024, candidates must be Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin, or Overseas Citizens of India and should be local candidates. A local candidate is one who has studied in educational institutions in Telangana for at least four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which they appeared or first appeared in the qualifying examination. Candidates must have completed B.Sc. (N) or Post B.Sc. (N) from an institution in Telangana recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates). Service candidates must be regular Government employees with a minimum of 5 years of service in departments such as Public Health, DME, or Vaidya Vidhana Parishad as of 31-01-2025. Their service certificates must be issued by the Director of Public Health, Director of Medical Education, or Commissioner VVP. Only Government service candidates are eligible for service quota seats at the Government College of Nursing, Hyderabad, subject to relevant government orders. Non-service candidates must have at least one year of work experience after registration of B.Sc. (N) or prior/after Post Basic Nursing as of 31-01-2025. Experience certificates once uploaded are final; no changes or revised certificates will be accepted later. There is no upper age limit for admission per INC norms, but service candidates must meet service criteria as specified. All candidates must be registered Nurses and Midwives under the Indian Nursing Council and must be medically fit. Any false information or certificates submitted will lead to cancellation of registration and disciplinary action by the University.

Merit Lists

  • The Admission Committee constituted by the University shall prepare a Common Provisional Final Merit List based on the percentage of total marks obtained in B.Sc. (N) 4YDC / P.B. B.Sc. (N) 2YDC — group and language subjects combined — calculated up to two decimal places, after verifying the uploaded original certificates.
  • In case of a tie in the total percentage of marks, the age of the candidate shall be considered, and the older candidate will be placed higher in the merit list.
  • If the tie persists even after considering age, the aggregate percentage of marks in the final year examination alone shall be taken into consideration to determine the order of merit.
  • The Provisional Final Merit List will be published on the official website: http://knruhs.telangana.gov.in. All eligible candidates are advised to visit the website to check their merit and eligibility status.

Note: If a candidate fails to upload any or all marks memos from 1st year to final year of B.Sc. (N) 4YDC / P.B. B.Sc. (N) 2YDC, their percentage of marks shall be considered as 50% for merit calculation.

COUNSELING

  • Verification of uploaded certificates and the counseling process will be conducted in accordance with the existing Government and University regulations.
  • As per the schedule announced on the University website, candidates must exercise their web options for the course and college they wish to join. Allotment of seats will be made based on the candidate’s merit, web options, and applicable reservation rules.
  • Provisionally selected candidates will receive an SMS notification, and the allotment list will be published on the KNRUHS website. Candidates must pay the University fee online and download the allotment order. It is the responsibility of each candidate to log in to the portal and check their allotment status, even if they do not receive the SMS.
  • Selected candidates must report to the Principal of the allotted college, submit their original certificates, pay the college fee, and submit the prescribed bond on or before the last date mentioned in the allotment order. Final verification of original certificates will be done at the college. If any discrepancy is found, the admission will be cancelled.
  • If a candidate fails to submit the original certificates, pay the fees, or submit the bond within the specified period, the selection will be cancelled automatically. Such candidates will also not be eligible for any further phases of counseling.
  • The Selection Committee has the authority to review any provisional selection in case of errors, misrepresentation, fraud, or clear injustice. The decision of the Selection Committee will be final and binding in all matters related to admission, and no changes will be entertained after the closure of admissions.
