Candidates seeking admission into Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) Course should have passed Two year Intermediate Examination of the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana (OR)Any other equivalent examination (10+2 pattern)or NIOS or APOSS recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh.
Should have passed General Nursing and Midwifery from an institution recognized by the Govt.of A.P. or Nursing Council of India and shall be registered with the State Nursing Council.
NOTE: The Candidates who studied 1 ½ year MPHW are not eligible for admission into Post Basic B.Sc(N) 2YDC.

Service regularization/probation declaration orders as a staff nurse and Service Certificate issued by the HOD concerned should be uploaded to consider under Service Quota.
Temporary / contract employees in Government and employees working in private hospitals are NOT ELIGIBLE for service quota seats.
Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc Nursing:
The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife of equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution that is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Minimum one year of work experience prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Both the Service and Non-service candidates should not have completed 45 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission. For candidates belonging to SC and ST's the maximum age limit shall be 48 years
SELECTION PROCESS:
There is no entrance test for admissions into M.Sc(N) course
The selection of Candidates will be made by the selection committee as per the merit list.
The merit list will be prepared on the marks obtained in B.Sc(N)/ B.Sc., Hons (Nursing)/Post Basic B.Sc., (Nursing) group, and languages put together (all subjects) up to two decimal places.
In case equality aggregate marks, age shall be taken into consideration and older candidates shall be given higher places in the merit list
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT OF CANDIDATES WHOSE DOMICILE OF ANDHRA PRADESH / TELANGANA
The Non-local candidates are eligible for 15% Unreserved seats only. The Local candidates are eligible for both 15% unreserved seats and 85% local area seats.
RESERVATION IN FAVOUR OF THE LOCAL CANDIDATES
Admission to 85% of the available seats shall be reserved in favor of the Local candidates concerning the local area as provided in A.P.
The part of the State comprising the Districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam (Andhra University Area) shall be regarded as the local area for the purposes of admission to the Andhra University
The part of the State comprising the Districts of Adilabad, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Warangal shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to the Osmania University, ** (the Kakatiya University)
The part of the State comprising the Districts of Ananthapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Nellore (Sri Venkateswara University) shall be regarded as local area for the purposes of admission to Sri Venkateswara University
Reservation of seats for Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes.
Out of the available seats for admission by the University 15% for SCs and 6% for STs shall be reserved in each local area. If any seat reserved for the Scheduled Tribes is not filled-up they will be open to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Vice Versa.
If the candidates from Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes are not available these reserved seats shall be re-allotted to candidates of open competition on the basis of merit.
Candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes belonging to Andhra Pradesh which are specified in the list as per the Government orders will be considered against the reserved seats.

Only those Candidates who belongs to these castes of the States of Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana which are listed in the Government orders shall be considered under the respective categories.
If qualified candidates belonging to Backward Classes of a particular group are not available, the left-over seats can be adjusted for the candidates of next group. If qualified candidates belonging to Back Ward Classes are not available to fill up the 29% seats reserved for them, the left-over seats shall be treated as Open Competition seats and shall be filled up with candidates of open competition on the basis of merit.
While calculating the number of seats in the Sub-categories if the total number of seats falls short of or exceeds 29% it shall be limited to 29% by adding or eliminating the candidates on the basis of merit in the sub-groups in which the fractions were rounded to nearest figure.
In working out percentage of reserved candidates under SC, ST and BC categories, a fraction less than 0.5 will be ignored and if the fraction is 0.5 or more, it will be counted as one
Certification of Caste:
Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class candidates shall in support of their claim, have to furnish latest Integrated Caste Certificate with Barcode obtained from Government of AP/Telangana in the prescribed form issued by the Concerned Authority. If the certificate is not in the prescribed form, candidates will not be considered for selection under the reserved quota.
RESERVATION UNDER PwD (Person with Disability) CATEGORY:
Out of the available seats for admission by the Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, 5% shall be reserved for the Person with Disability (PwD) in each category of OC, SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D and BC-E as per Government of India guidelines
The candidate seeking the benefit of reservation should present him/herself before a Medical Board constituted by the University. Such candidates have to appear before the Medical Board, to be constituted by the Competent Authority and notified by the University for Eligibility under PwD status along with a valid disability certificate issued not later than three months before submitting his/her application. The report of the Medical Board is final for considering a candidate under PH quota as per rules.

Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:
The minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for M.P.H.W(F).
Minimum education:
10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.
The student shall be medically fit.
Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examinations or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
Students shall be admitted once a year.
For foreign nationals
. The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible for ensuring that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.
GNM Nursing (3 years)-GNM Admission procedure is divided into two categories, i.e., Government seat and Management seat. DR. Y.S.R UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCESwill be doing Counseling for 100% seats for Government, Government aided Central Universities, National Institutes, and 40% seats for private college. 60% Management Quota Seats Will Be filled directly by the private college.
