Regional College Of Nursing

Regional College Of Nursing, its a govt college, Established in 1977 and situated in Guwahati. Regional College of Nursing Guwahati (RCN Guwahati) is one of the best Government Nursing colleges in Assam. It is popularly known as Regional Nursing College Guwahati. It is affiliated with Guwahati University. The college has been recognized by Indian Nursing council (INC), Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ and Health Visitors’ Council (ANC) and approved by Govt of Assam. The College initially started functioning in the administrative building of Gauhati Medical College on the top of Narakasur Hill and students were provided practical area for their clinical learning in Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Assam. It is only other day in the month of February 2006 College shifted to its newly constructed building at the adjacent plot to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati. Initially the institution offered only Four Years B.Sc. Nursing program with intake capacity of 30 out of which 15 for the state of Assam and 15 for other Northern Eastern states. The year 2008 witnessed a bright dawn with the introduction of 2 years M.Sc.

Hostel: There are two hostels: B.Sc. Nursing (UG) and M.Sc. Nursing (PG). Hostels are well maintained with quality and hygienic food. Peaceful environment for Study.

Library: Library has the sitting arrangement for almost 100 students at a time. 10,000 Books and Several Journals. Process of Digitalization is going on.

Eligibility for Admission B.Sc(N):-

The minimum age for admission is 17 years.

2. The minimum educational requirement: H.S.S.L.C. (Sc) i.e. 10+2 or Senior School Certificate Exam (10+2) or Pre degree Exam or any degree passed with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with minimum of 45% marks in PCB. In case of SC/ST the minimum marks is relaxable by 5%.

3. Candidate shall have to be medically fit.

4. Admission is open for both the genders.

5. Students coming from other nationality shall have to be regularized under the Foreign Nationals Act.

6. A certificate stating of good conduct from the principal of 

College/School the candidate last attended shall have to be produced.

7. Admission will be based on the performance in the Entrance 

Examination conducted by the College. 

8. Admission is valid for one year only (i.e. yearly admission is required)

Entrance Test:

The Entrance Test will comprise of written test & personal interview. Written test include papers in English, Science & General Knowledge. The test will be held in the Institute.

Admission Procedures:
Application forms shall be available during office hours at the following address: Arya Nursing College, Nij Sindurighopa, Changsari, Kamrup(R), Pin- 781101 and Arya Hospital, A.M. Road, Rehabari, Guwahati-781 008; by paying a sum of Rs. 700/- (non-refundable) either by Cash or D/D in favour of Arya Nursing College, Payable at Guwahati.

Method of Selection:

1. Admission is made on the basis of the entrance test & personal interview.

2. The entrance test will be in English.

3. The candidate will be allowed for the interview only if the original certificates and marksheets are produced at the time of interview.

4. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

Eligibility for Admission P B B.Sc(N) Programme :

1. The student must attain the minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission

2. The minimum educational requirement: 

         (a) Intermediate/ 10+2 (Arts/Science/Commerce) or its equivalent

         (b) Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

         (c) Must be registered under respective nursing council & Midwifery (GNM)

3. Candidate shall have to be medically fit

4. Admission is open for both the genders

5. Students coming from other nationally shall have to conform all norms of GOI under the Foreign Nationals Act as a student

6. Admission is valid for one year only (i.e. yearly admission is required)

 Admission Process:

Our entire admission process is a paper-less one and to be completed online. Admission to all Postgraduate Courses will be based on the the performance of the student in the Offline Entrance Test, which will be conducted in the month of September 2021.
