The online application for admission to Paramedical Degree Courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges and Government quota seats in Self-Financing Colleges affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, is available at www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in and www.tnmedicalselection.org. Candidates must regularly visit these websites for updates throughout the admission process, as the Selection Committee will not be held responsible for any consequences arising from failure to follow updates, notifications, or announcements published online. Those unable to access the online application can visit the nearest Government Medical College, Government Dental College, or Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre (TFC) in districts without medical colleges, along with their parent or guardian and original certificates, to use the available facilities to apply. Applicants are strongly advised to download and carefully read the prospectus with their parents or guardians before completing the application, ensuring that all mandatory fields are properly filled. Incomplete or incorrectly filled applications will be rejected, and no requests for reconsideration will be entertained. In case of any confusion, candidates should refer to both Tamil and English versions of the prospectus for clarity.
Eligibility:- The candidate must be an Indian citizen and a native of Tamil Nadu to claim nativity. Those claiming nativity of Tamil Nadu must submit a valid Nativity Certificate issued by the competent Revenue Authority of the Government of Tamil Nadu; Permanent Residence Certificates will not be accepted as a substitute. This certificate must be uploaded along with the application—submissions sent separately will not be considered. Even candidates who have studied from 6th to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu are required to produce both the Nativity Certificate and the Community Certificate issued by the competent authority. To claim communal reservation, the Community Certificate of either parent must also be provided. Failure to submit these certificates will result in the candidate being considered under the Open Category, regardless of their place of schooling. Candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu but have studied partially or entirely outside the state from 6th to 12th standard must upload their Nativity Certificate, their own Community Certificate, and the Community Certificate of a parent or guardian from Tamil Nadu to claim communal reservation. Incomplete documentation will lead to rejection of the application. Candidates from other states who studied in Tamil Nadu from 6th to 12th standard will only be considered under the Open Category and must submit a Bonafide Certificate from the respective schools. Community Certificates from other states, whether of the candidate or their parents, will not be accepted for communal reservation.
Age Limit :– Candidates must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2024. The upper age limit for candidates belonging to OC, BC, BCM, and MBC/DNC categories is 30 years as on 31st December 2024. For candidates belonging to SC, SCA, and ST categories, the upper age limit is 35 years as on the same date.
Educational Qualifications :- Candidates must have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other recognized equivalent board, with the required minimum eligible marks in the prescribed group of subjects. They must have studied English as one of the subjects, along with either (a) Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or (b) Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Candidates belonging to the OC category must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the specified subjects, while those from BC, BCM, MBC & DNC categories must have obtained at least 40% aggregate marks. Similarly, candidates from SC, SCA, and ST categories must also have secured a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
Procedure for Filling and Submitting the Online Application: Candidates must log in to either of the official websites — www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in or www.tnmedicalselection.org — to access and submit the online application. The application fee is Rs. 500/- and must be paid through the designated bank portal. Candidates are required to fill in all mandatory fields accurately and upload the necessary certificates as specified. Once the application is submitted, no request for changes in any of the details will be entertained under any circumstances. Only one application should be submitted; in case multiple applications are submitted, only one will be considered. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that all information provided is correct at the time of submission.

Online Counselling Procedure: The schedule for online counselling will be published exclusively on the official websites, and candidates are required to lock their choices of colleges and courses within the specified timeframe. Admission to Paramedical Degree courses will be conducted through online counselling based on merit and in accordance with the rule of reservation. Counselling for Special Categories, such as Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Disabilities, will be conducted prior to the General Category counselling. Please note that there will be no re-allotment or change of college for candidates under the Special Category. To participate in online counselling, candidates must pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 250/- through the bank payment portal. During the choice-filling process, candidates can select any number of eligible courses and colleges. Allotments will be made based on the candidate's merit, preferences, and applicable reservation policies.
Reporting: Candidates who are allotted a seat must download their provisional allotment order and report to the assigned Medical College/Institution in person, along with the original certificates and copies, before the date and time specified in the allotment order. Only those candidates who have joined their course during the 1st phase of counselling will be eligible to participate in subsequent phases for re-allotment. The dates for such counselling will be published on the official websites and communicated to the Dean/Principal of the respective colleges. No individual notifications will be sent to candidates.

Eligibility:- To be eligible for admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course for the academic year 2024–2025, candidates must be Indian citizens. Only native residents of Tamil Nadu are eligible to claim nativity. Candidates from other states cannot claim nativity of Tamil Nadu. Native candidates who have completed their 8th to 12th standard education and a 3 or 3½ year Diploma in Nursing course within Tamil Nadu are not required to submit a Nativity Certificate. However, those who have completed any part of their education or Diploma in Nursing outside Tamil Nadu must upload a valid Nativity Certificate issued by the competent authority in Tamil Nadu, failing which their application will be summarily rejected. A Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted as proof of nativity. Only native candidates of Tamil Nadu are eligible for communal reservation, while other state candidates—even if they studied in Tamil Nadu will be considered under the Open Competition (OC) category. The maximum age limit for eligibility is 45 years as on 31st December 2024, and age proof must be uploaded. Educationally, candidates must have passed the Diploma in Nursing Examination with a pass in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by the university and be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council or any other State Nursing Council. Alternatively, candidates possessing a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. (or equivalent) with the State Nurses Registration Council or any other state council are also eligible. Uploading a false Nativity Certificate at any stage of the process will lead to cancellation of admission, expulsion from the course, and initiation of criminal proceedings against the candidate and their parents as per law.
Procedure for Filling and Submitting the Online Application
Note: Candidates belonging to BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, SC, and SCA communities must upload their original community certificate issued by the competent Revenue Authority of the respective area, while Scheduled Tribe candidates must upload their permanent community certificate issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer of the concerned division. All necessary certificates should be uploaded in the prescribed format during the online application process. Community certificates issued by authorities from other states will not be accepted, and such candidates will be considered under the Open Competition (OC) category.
Online Counselling Procedure (Single Window System)
Reporting: Selected candidates must download their provisional allotment order and report in person to the allotted medical college/institution on or before the date mentioned, carrying both original certificates and photocopies.
