The online application for admission to Paramedical Degree Courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges and Government quota seats in Self-Financing Colleges affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, is available at www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in and www.tnmedicalselection.org. Those unable to access the online application can visit the nearest Government Medical College, Government Dental College, or Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre (TFC) in districts without medical colleges, along with their parent or guardian and original certificates, to use the available facilities to apply. GNM

Admission to both GNM and ANM courses is conducted online by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC) through the official website www.tamilnadunursingcouncil.com. The selection process is merit-based, primarily considering marks obtained in the 10+2 examination, and applicants are expected to meet all eligibility and documentation requirements as per the norms issued by the Directorate of Medical Education and the TNNMC.

GNM Eligibility: To be eligible for admission to the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course in Tamil Nadu, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board. While preference is given to students from the Science stream (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English), students from Arts and Commerce streams are also eligible to apply. General category candidates must have secured a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, while SC/ST candidates are eligible with a minimum of 35%. The minimum age for admission is 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year, and there is currently no upper age limit as per the government rules. Both male and female candidates are eligible for the GNM program. Applicants must be medically fit to pursue the course. The duration of the GNM course is three years, including a mandatory six-month internship.
